Earn a hospitality credential before applying
Certifications from the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute, like the Certified Hospitality Supervisor credential, signal readiness to Hilton recruiters and strengthen the case that your role meets H-2B or H-1B specialty requirements during USCIS review.
Target Hilton's seasonal resort properties first
Hilton's mountain and beach resorts file H-2B petitions tied to peak seasons. Focusing your application on these properties during off-peak hiring windows improves your odds before the annual H-2B cap is reached and slots become limited.
Align your resume to the specific Hilton brand
Hilton's portfolio ranges from Hampton Inn to Waldorf Astoria. Matching your prior hotel tier and service style to the brand you're applying for, rather than applying broadly, shows operational fit and moves your application past initial screening faster.
Ask about sponsorship intent during your first interview
Hilton properties vary in their willingness to file petitions by location and role level. Raise sponsorship directly with the hiring manager before the offer stage so you're not negotiating immigration support after verbal acceptance, when leverage is lower.
Track your H-2B start date against DOL processing timelines
H-2B petitions require a certified DOL application before USCIS filing. The full process can run 60 to 90 days, so confirm your Hilton start date leaves enough runway to clear both agencies without relying on premium processing, which is not available for H-2B.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Hilton openings by visa type
Hospitality roles at Hilton are listed across dozens of properties, and not all of them involve sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to filter open Hilton positions by the visa types they support, so you're only spending time on roles where sponsorship is actually on the table.

Find Hospitality at Hilton JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Hilton sponsor H-1B visas for Hospitality roles?
Hilton does sponsor H-1B visas for some hospitality roles, but it's not the most common pathway for this function. H-1B sponsorship at Hilton typically applies to corporate or management-track positions that require a relevant bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business, or a related field. Frontline service roles are more commonly filled through H-2B sponsorship tied to seasonal demand.
Which visa types does Hilton commonly sponsor for Hospitality positions?
The H-2B visa is the most frequently used pathway for Hilton's hospitality workforce, covering temporary, seasonal positions in roles like front desk agent, housekeeping staff, and food and beverage server at resort properties. H-1B sponsorship is available for management-level hospitality roles. Some roles may also be eligible for TN status for Canadian and Mexican nationals working in qualifying occupations.
How do I apply for Hospitality jobs at Hilton?
Apply directly through Hilton's careers portal at jobs.hilton.com, filtering by job category and location. When you find a role that interests you, review the job description carefully for language indicating visa sponsorship availability. To save time filtering for sponsored roles specifically, Migrate Mate aggregates Hilton hospitality listings by the visa types each position supports, so you can identify sponsorship-eligible openings without reviewing each listing individually.
What qualifications does Hilton expect for sponsored Hospitality roles?
Requirements vary by role level. Seasonal H-2B positions generally require prior hotel or food and beverage experience in a similar property tier, with no degree requirement. For management roles sponsored under H-1B, Hilton typically expects a bachelor's degree in hospitality management, hotel administration, or a related field, combined with supervisory experience. Fluency in English and familiarity with property management systems like OnQ are consistent advantages across both tracks.
How long does the Hilton visa sponsorship process take for Hospitality roles?
For H-2B sponsorship, Hilton initiates the process months before your intended start date because the DOL temporary labor certification must be approved before USCIS can process the petition. The full cycle from DOL application to visa issuance typically runs three to four months. H-1B sponsorship follows a different calendar, with cap-subject petitions subject to the April lottery and an October 1 start date under standard processing.
