Tailor your resume to Hilton's standards
Hilton's Food Service Manager roles emphasize cost control, staff scheduling, and brand compliance across multiple outlets. Format your resume to show P&L responsibility, team size managed, and any experience with branded hotel dining concepts rather than standalone restaurant operations.
Target properties with high seasonal demand
Hilton resorts and conference centers with peak seasonal cycles are most likely to file for H-2B sponsorship. Identify properties in resort destinations or convention markets where food and beverage volume drives recurring demand for experienced management.
Search open roles through Migrate Mate
Hilton posts Food Service Manager openings across dozens of properties at any given time. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Hilton roles that include visa sponsorship, so you're applying where a sponsorship pathway already exists rather than guessing.
Understand the H-2B timeline before accepting an offer
H-2B visas require DOL certification before USCIS adjudicates the petition, which means the employer needs to start the process well before your intended start date. Confirm your target Hilton property understands this timeline when discussing an offer.
Obtain a ServSafe certification before applying
Most Hilton food and beverage operations require or strongly prefer ServSafe Manager certification. Having it before you apply removes a common hiring objection and signals readiness to operate within U.S. food safety compliance standards from day one.
Confirm your work authorization is current at hiring
Hilton participates in E-Verify, so your employment eligibility will be checked against federal databases on hire. If you're transitioning between visa statuses, ensure your authorized period covers your anticipated start date before the onboarding process begins.

Does Hilton sponsor H-1B visas for Food Service Managers?
Food Service Manager is generally not classified as a specialty occupation under USCIS H-1B criteria, which requires a position tied to a specific bachelor's degree field. Hilton's sponsorship for this role more commonly occurs through the H-2B program, which covers temporary non-agricultural workers in hospitality operations, including food and beverage management at seasonal or peak-demand properties.
Which visa types does Hilton commonly use for Food Service Manager roles?
The H-2B visa is the most common pathway Hilton uses to sponsor Food Service Managers. This visa covers temporary positions tied to seasonal or one-time events, which fits many of Hilton's resort, convention, and hotel properties that see fluctuating food and beverage demand. Some candidates also enter through employer-sponsored Green Card processes if they're transitioning from long-term temporary status.
What qualifications does Hilton expect for a Food Service Manager role?
Hilton typically expects candidates to have hands-on experience managing food and beverage operations in a hotel or large-scale hospitality setting. Strong candidates demonstrate experience with scheduling, food cost management, and compliance with health and safety regulations. A hospitality or culinary management degree strengthens your application, and ServSafe Manager certification is a practical requirement at most properties.
How do I apply for Food Service Manager jobs at Hilton?
You can search Hilton's open Food Service Manager positions directly through their careers portal, or use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Hilton roles that include visa sponsorship. When applying, tailor your application to the specific property type, whether that's a full-service hotel, resort, or convention center, since food and beverage scope varies significantly across Hilton's portfolio.
How do I understand the sponsorship process timeline for a Hilton Food Service Manager position?
For H-2B sponsorship, Hilton must file a temporary labor certification with DOL before submitting a petition to USCIS, and the full process can span several months. You'll need your position confirmed and paperwork initiated well before your expected start date. Consular processing adds additional time if you're applying from outside the U.S., so align your job search timeline with the property's anticipated hiring window.
