Frame your degree around technical sales readiness
Aggreko's Sales Trainee program favors candidates with engineering, business, or industrial technology backgrounds. When applying, connect your coursework or projects directly to the rental equipment or energy services context, not generic sales skills.
Target Aggreko's regional field offices strategically
Aggreko hires Sales Trainees across regional territories tied to industrial hubs like the Gulf Coast, Midwest, and Southeast. Applying to locations with active refinery, construction, or manufacturing activity increases your chances of landing a role that justifies sponsorship.
Start OPT early and communicate your timeline clearly
If you're on F-1 OPT, activate it before your start date and tell your recruiter your exact authorization window. Aggreko's onboarding for Sales Trainees spans several months, so aligning your OPT end date with the H-1B filing cycle avoids a status gap.
Confirm the role qualifies as a specialty occupation
H-1B eligibility for Sales Trainee roles depends on USCIS accepting the position as a specialty occupation. Roles tied to a specific technical degree field hold up better than general sales titles, so ask HR how the petition is structured before accepting an offer.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Sales Trainee roles at Aggreko
Search Migrate Mate's visa sponsorship job board to find current Sales Trainee openings at Aggreko filtered by visa type. This saves time compared to sifting through general job boards that don't distinguish sponsors from non-sponsors.
Ask HR about LCA prevailing wage before negotiating salary
Aggreko must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL certifying your salary meets the prevailing wage for your work location. Understand the wage level assigned to your role before negotiating, since your offer cannot legally fall below that certified amount.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Aggreko sponsor H-1B visas for Sales Trainees?
Yes, Aggreko sponsors H-1B visas for Sales Trainee roles. The key factor is whether USCIS accepts the position as a specialty occupation, which typically requires the role to be tied to a specific technical or business degree field. Roles with a clear engineering or industrial technology connection are more defensible than broadly scoped sales titles.
Which visa types are commonly used for Sales Trainee roles at Aggreko?
Aggreko supports H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas for Sales Trainee positions. F-1 OPT and CPT are common entry points for recent graduates, allowing you to start work while an H-1B petition is prepared. Canadian and Mexican nationals may pursue the TN visa as a faster alternative that avoids the H-1B lottery entirely.
How do I apply for Sales Trainee jobs at Aggreko?
You can browse current Sales Trainee openings at Aggreko directly through Migrate Mate, which filters job listings by visa sponsorship eligibility so you can confirm the role fits your situation before applying. When you apply, tailor your resume to highlight technical coursework, field experience, or any exposure to industrial equipment, energy services, or B2B sales environments.
What qualifications does Aggreko look for in Sales Trainee candidates?
Aggreko typically recruits Sales Trainees with bachelor's degrees in engineering, business, or a related technical field. Practical experience with industrial equipment, energy infrastructure, or direct client-facing work strengthens your application. The trainee program is structured for early-career candidates, so demonstrated learning agility and a willingness to work in field environments matters as much as prior sales experience.
How do I time my H-1B filing if I join Aggreko on OPT?
H-1B petitions must be filed with USCIS by April 1 for an October 1 start date. If your OPT expires before October 1, a timely filed petition grants a cap-gap extension that keeps you authorized to work continuously. Coordinate with Aggreko's HR team well before the March registration window to ensure your petition is submitted on time.
