Align your credentials to LCA job codes
Alfa Laval files Labor Condition Applications with the DOL before sponsoring H-1B workers. Review published LCA disclosure data for their manufacturing roles to understand which job titles and wage levels they've committed to, then tailor your resume to match those classifications.
Target process and industrial engineering openings
Alfa Laval's manufacturing hiring in distribution and wholesale operations leans toward process engineers, manufacturing engineers, and quality roles tied to heat transfer equipment. These specialty occupation designations hold up more reliably under USCIS scrutiny than general production titles.
Clarify CPT and OPT authorization before your interview
If you're on F-1 status, confirm your OPT or CPT work authorization dates are current before you reach the offer stage. Alfa Laval's HR teams will need to verify your Employment Authorization Document through E-Verify, so gaps or expiring documents create delays.
Ask specifically about Green Card sponsorship timelines
Alfa Laval sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visas for manufacturing talent. During the offer stage, ask the recruiter whether the role includes a PERM labor certification commitment and what the typical timeline from hire to filing looks like for your position level.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified manufacturing openings
Alfa Laval posts manufacturing roles across multiple locations and business units. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Alfa Laval positions that list visa sponsorship, so you're applying to roles where sponsorship is already confirmed rather than assuming it from the job description.
Prepare technical documentation for TN eligibility
Canadian and Mexican nationals in engineering roles can pursue TN status, which Alfa Laval sponsors for qualifying manufacturing positions. Have your engineering degree credentials, job offer letter, and a clear description of your duties ready at the border or consulate, since TN adjudication happens on the spot.

Find Manufacturing at Alfa Laval JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Alfa Laval sponsor H-1B visas for Manufacturing roles?
Yes, Alfa Laval sponsors H-1B visas for manufacturing positions that qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS standards. Roles like process engineer, manufacturing engineer, and quality engineer typically meet this threshold. The sponsorship process requires your employer to file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before submitting the H-1B petition to USCIS, so expect a multi-step timeline before your start date.
How do I apply for Manufacturing jobs at Alfa Laval?
Applications go through Alfa Laval's careers portal, where manufacturing roles are listed by business unit and location. You can also browse verified Alfa Laval manufacturing openings that confirm visa sponsorship eligibility through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for roles where sponsorship is available. Tailor your application to the equipment or process area the role covers, since Alfa Laval manufactures specialized heat transfer, separation, and fluid handling systems.
Which visa types does Alfa Laval commonly use for Manufacturing positions?
Alfa Laval sponsors H-1B, TN, J-1, and F-1 OPT and CPT for manufacturing roles, along with EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term hires. The right category depends on your nationality, degree field, and the specific job title. Engineers from Canada or Mexico often pursue TN status for speed, while most other nationalities work through the H-1B process.
What qualifications does Alfa Laval expect for Manufacturing roles?
Alfa Laval's manufacturing positions generally require a bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical, chemical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering, depending on the specific role. Hands-on experience with industrial equipment, process improvement methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma, and familiarity with heat transfer or fluid systems strengthens your profile significantly. For H-1B sponsorship purposes, your degree field needs to align directly with the job duties USCIS will evaluate.
How do I time my application around H-1B cap deadlines?
The H-1B cap registration window typically opens in March, with a lottery selection shortly after. If you need cap-subject H-1B sponsorship, you should be in active conversations with Alfa Laval recruiters by January or February to allow time for offer letters, LCA filing with the DOL, and registration submission. If you're already on OPT, your current work authorization buys additional runway outside this annual cycle.
