Align your credentials with FDA-regulated manufacturing
Medtronic's manufacturing roles operate under FDA quality system regulations, so certifications like ASQ CQE or experience with ISO 13485 and 21 CFR Part 820 directly strengthen your profile before you apply.
Target roles by site location and visa type
Medtronic operates manufacturing facilities across multiple states, and sponsorship pathways can vary by location. Use Migrate Mate to filter open manufacturing roles by visa type so you're only applying where your sponsorship needs are supported.
Distinguish between nonimmigrant and immigrant sponsorship early
Medtronic sponsors both H-1B and Green Card pathways for manufacturing professionals. Knowing which you need before your first interview lets you ask the right questions and avoids surprises during the offer stage.
Understand what specialty occupation means for your role
USCIS requires H-1B petitions to demonstrate the position qualifies as a specialty occupation. For manufacturing engineers or process validation roles, your job description and degree field alignment matter more than your job title alone.
Ask about PERM timing during the offer negotiation
If you're targeting a Green Card through EB-2 or EB-3, find out whether Medtronic will initiate PERM labor certification after a defined employment period. DOL processing timelines mean starting this conversation early has real consequences for your long-term status.

Find Manufacturing at Medtronic JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Medtronic sponsor H-1B visas for Manufacturing roles?
Yes, Medtronic sponsors H-1B visas for manufacturing positions including manufacturing engineering, process validation, quality assurance, and operations roles. Sponsorship is generally tied to roles that meet USCIS specialty occupation requirements, meaning the position typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific technical field such as mechanical, biomedical, or industrial engineering.
How do I apply for Manufacturing jobs at Medtronic?
You can search and apply through Medtronic's careers portal directly. To find manufacturing roles that include visa sponsorship, browse Migrate Mate, which filters Medtronic job listings by visa type so you can identify positions where sponsorship is explicitly supported before you invest time in the application process.
Which visa types does Medtronic commonly use for Manufacturing positions?
Medtronic uses several visa pathways for manufacturing hires. H-1B is the primary nonimmigrant route for engineers and technical specialists. TN visas cover Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering roles. For longer-term immigration, Medtronic supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through PERM labor certification. F-1 OPT and CPT are also used for students and recent graduates entering manufacturing through internships or entry-level roles.
What qualifications does Medtronic expect for sponsored Manufacturing roles?
Most sponsored manufacturing roles at Medtronic require a bachelor's degree in engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent experience. For H-1B eligibility specifically, the degree must align directly with the role. Practical experience with regulated manufacturing environments, FDA quality systems, validation processes, or lean manufacturing methodologies strengthens your candidacy beyond the degree requirement alone.
How do I plan my timeline if I need visa sponsorship for a Manufacturing role at Medtronic?
If you're targeting H-1B sponsorship, the annual lottery opens in March for an October 1 start, so you'll need an offer well before that window. F-1 OPT gives you up to 12 months of work authorization post-graduation, with a 24-month STEM extension available for qualifying engineering degrees, which can bridge you through one or two H-1B cycles if needed.
