What You Will Contribute To Altos
The Altos Institute of Medicine will capture knowledge generated about cell health and programming and develop transformative medicines. We are seeking an experienced Scientist, Formulation Development, to join the Technical Operations team within the Institute of Medicine. The candidate will work in a highly dynamic and cross-functional environment that will have close collaboration with the Institutes of Science and span multiple therapeutic areas. The successful candidate will perform formulation development for Altos’ small molecule and oligonucleotide programs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct formulation, process development and manufacturing for small molecule and oligonucleotide therapeutics, and support drug product development for other modalities
- Perform preformulation characterization and analytical testing to support drug product development
- Support development and manufacturing at Contract Development and Manufacturing Organizations (CDMOs) to deliver products for nonclinical studies and clinical trials
- Perform troubleshooting and data analysis to solve technical problems in formulation development and manufacturing to ensure product quality
- Support risk assessments and manufacturing deviation investigations
- Author Standard Operating Procedures, specifications, regulatory filing, or other controlled documents as needed
- Foster strong partnerships with Institutes of Science and development sciences
- Actively contribute to a team culture that promotes continuous improvement, ownership, professional growth, and inclusion
Qualifications
Who You Are
- M.S. with 6+ years or Ph.D. with 2+ years of experience in the formulation, process development, and manufacturing of small molecule drug products, with a degree in chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, chemical engineering, or a related field
- Experience in preformulation characterization and analytical testing
- Experienced in achieving CMC deliverables through outsourcing to CDMOs is preferred
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment, with a willingness to learn new skills and adapt to shifting priorities and tasks
- A critical thinker with the ability to analyze possibilities and solutions and make pragmatic trade-offs, as well as a big-picture innovator who can identify opportunities and is comfortable with ambiguity
- Strong communication and collaboration skills. Build effective relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
The salary range for Redwood City, CA:
- Scientist I, Formulation Development: $61/hr. - $75/hr.
- Scientist II, Formulation Development: $72/hr. - $88/hr.
