Frame your PM credentials around Amazon's methodology
Amazon evaluates Project Managers against its Leadership Principles, not just PMP certification. Align your resume and portfolio to show ownership, data-driven decisions, and cross-functional delivery at scale before you apply.
Target roles in AWS and fulfillment operations first
Amazon's highest Project Manager hiring volume sits in AWS infrastructure and fulfillment network expansion. These divisions run continuous headcount cycles, giving you more sponsorship opportunities than corporate or retail-facing teams.
Confirm your role meets specialty occupation standards
DOL requires the employer to certify that a Project Manager role requires a specific bachelor's degree or higher. Ensure your offer letter and job description specify a degree requirement, not just a preference, to support the LCA filing.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Project Manager openings by sponsorship type
Amazon posts Project Manager roles across dozens of job families. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for positions where Amazon has an active sponsorship track record, so you're applying where your visa type is expected.
Account for H-1B cap timing in your job search calendar
If you need a cap-subject H-1B, USCIS registration opens in March for an October 1 start date. Build your Amazon application timeline backward from that window so an offer can realistically align with the cap cycle.

Find Project Manager at Amazon JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Amazon sponsor H-1B visas for Project Managers?
Yes, Amazon sponsors H-1B visas for Project Manager roles. The process requires Amazon to file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL and then submit an I-129 petition to USCIS. If you're subject to the H-1B cap, your petition enters the annual lottery, so timing your offer around the March registration window is essential.
How do I apply for Project Manager jobs at Amazon?
Applications go through Amazon's careers portal, but competition is high and job listings move quickly. Migrate Mate tracks Project Manager openings at Amazon where visa sponsorship is part of the hiring pattern, so you can focus your efforts on roles that are realistically accessible to international candidates rather than applying broadly.
Which visa types does Amazon commonly use for Project Manager roles?
Amazon sponsors H-1B, E-3, and H-1B1 visas for Project Managers, along with immigrant visa pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for longer-term permanent residence. Australian citizens can pursue the E-3, which skips the lottery entirely. Singaporean and Chilean nationals may qualify for the H-1B1, another cap-exempt option with a faster path to employment authorization.
What qualifications does Amazon expect for sponsored Project Manager roles?
Most sponsored Project Manager positions at Amazon require a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, computer science, supply chain, or business, alongside demonstrated experience managing complex, cross-functional programs. Amazon's bar centers on measurable delivery outcomes and familiarity with agile or structured program methodologies. Roles in AWS often weight technical fluency more heavily than those in operations.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Project Manager at Amazon?
Timeline depends heavily on visa category. E-3 and H-1B1 petitions can be filed and approved within a few weeks, often without a lottery. Cap-subject H-1B petitions follow a fixed government calendar, with registration in March and the earliest start date of October 1. USCIS premium processing, where available, can reduce adjudication to around 15 business days.
