Job Roles at Ameresco Companies
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Ameresco Visa Sponsorship USA
Target roles aligned with Green Card sponsorship
Ameresco sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 visas, which typically support engineering, technical, and professional roles. Focus your application on positions requiring specialized degrees or demonstrable expertise in energy consulting, project management, or infrastructure development.
Emphasize domain expertise in clean energy
Ameresco works across energy efficiency, renewable projects, and government infrastructure. Candidates who demonstrate deep knowledge of these sectors are more likely to qualify for sponsored roles, since EB sponsorship typically requires a position that genuinely demands specialized qualifications.
Research open roles through a verified sponsorship platform
Not every Ameresco job listing will mention visa sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you identify which Ameresco openings are realistically accessible for international candidates.
Prepare for a longer hiring process than standard roles
Consulting and professional services firms running Green Card sponsorship often require additional internal approvals and legal review before extending offers. Expect a more deliberate interview and offer process at Ameresco compared to companies that only sponsor H-1B visas.
Ask specifically about EB-2 versus EB-3 eligibility
Ameresco sponsors both categories, and which one applies to you depends on your role and qualifications. EB-2 requires an advanced degree or exceptional ability; EB-3 covers bachelor's-level professionals. Clarify which pathway applies before accepting an offer or starting the sponsorship process.

Get Access To All JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Ameresco sponsor H-1B visas?
Based on available sponsorship data, Ameresco's visa sponsorship activity is focused on Green Cards rather than H-1B visas. If you're currently on H-1B status and seeking transfer options, Ameresco may not be the right fit. However, if you're looking for an employer to sponsor permanent residency, Ameresco's EB-2 and EB-3 track record makes it a worthwhile target.
What visa types does Ameresco sponsor?
Ameresco sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visas, both of which are pathways to a Green Card. EB-2 is for professionals with advanced degrees or exceptional ability, while EB-3 covers skilled workers with at least a bachelor's degree. Both require PERM labor certification, which Ameresco initiates on behalf of the sponsored employee.
Which departments or roles at Ameresco are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Given Ameresco's focus on energy efficiency consulting, renewable energy project delivery, and government infrastructure, sponsored roles tend to sit in technical and professional functions, including engineering, project management, energy consulting, and data analysis. Roles requiring specialized credentials or advanced degrees align most closely with the EB-2 and EB-3 requirements Ameresco typically files under.
How do I find open jobs at Ameresco that offer visa sponsorship?
Not all Ameresco job postings explicitly state whether sponsorship is available. Migrate Mate tracks verified sponsorship history by employer, so you can search Ameresco's profile and filter for roles where sponsorship is a realistic option. This is more reliable than reading job descriptions that may omit sponsorship details entirely.
How do I approach the application process at Ameresco as an international candidate?
Be direct about your visa status early in the process. Since Ameresco sponsors Green Cards rather than H-1B visas, confirm you're eligible for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship based on your qualifications. Highlight domain expertise relevant to energy consulting or infrastructure. Be prepared for a longer offer and onboarding timeline, as Green Card sponsorship involves legal review and PERM filing that extends beyond a standard hiring process.
