Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.
We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team.

How We're Different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills. The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

Frame your AI product experience precisely
Anthropic's PM hiring centers on candidates who've shipped products built on large language models or safety-critical systems. Document specific model evaluation cycles, red-teaming workflows, or API-layer product decisions you've owned before applying.
Research Anthropic's DOL labor condition applications
DOL LCA disclosure data shows the job titles and prevailing wage levels Anthropic has filed under for product management roles. Cross-referencing this data tells you whether your experience level aligns with the positions they've historically sponsored.
Negotiate offer timing around H-1B cap deadlines
H-1B registration opens each March for an October 1 start date. If you receive an offer outside that window, discuss a start date that aligns with the cap filing cycle, or ask whether cap-exempt pathways apply to your situation.
Use Migrate Mate to identify open roles by visa type
Anthropic posts Manager, Product Management openings across multiple tracks. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for roles where H-1B, H-1B1, or E-3 sponsorship is confirmed, so you're only investing time in positions that match your immigration status.
Prepare your specialty occupation documentation early
USCIS requires H-1B petitions to demonstrate the role qualifies as a specialty occupation. For PM roles at an AI research company, gather evidence that your degree field directly relates to the job, including any coursework in machine learning, human-computer interaction, or cognitive science.

Find Manager, Product Management at Anthropic JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Anthropic sponsor H-1B visas for Manager, Product Managements?
Yes, Anthropic sponsors H-1B visas for Manager, Product Management roles. The company has an active sponsorship track record for this function, including both standard cap-subject H-1B petitions and H-1B1 filings for eligible Chilean and Singaporean nationals. If you're in the H-1B lottery pool, it's worth aligning your offer timeline with the March registration window and October 1 start date.
How do I apply for Manager, Product Management jobs at Anthropic?
Applications go through Anthropic's careers page, where PM roles are listed by team and seniority level. You can also find and filter Anthropic's Manager, Product Management openings by visa sponsorship type on Migrate Mate, which lets you confirm sponsorship eligibility before investing time in the application process. Tailor your resume to reflect experience with AI product cycles, model evaluation, and cross-functional alignment with research teams.
Which visa types does Anthropic commonly use for Manager, Product Management roles?
Anthropic sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for Manager, Product Management positions. H-1B is the most common pathway for applicants from most countries. H-1B1 is available to Chilean and Singaporean nationals without a lottery. E-3 is available exclusively to Australian citizens and allows consular processing, which is typically faster than a change-of-status filing.
What qualifications does Anthropic expect for Manager, Product Management roles?
Anthropic typically looks for candidates with experience shipping products built on machine learning or large language model infrastructure, strong cross-functional leadership in technical environments, and comfort working directly with research and policy teams. A bachelor's degree in a related field is generally required to satisfy USCIS specialty occupation standards. Prior experience in AI safety, developer tooling, or API-layer products is a meaningful differentiator for sponsorship-track roles.
How do I plan my timeline for H-1B sponsorship at Anthropic?
If you need an H-1B, USCIS opens registration each March for a lottery covering 65,000 cap-subject slots plus 20,000 for U.S. advanced degree holders, with employment starting October 1. If you receive an offer outside that window, discuss a deferred start date or confirm whether premium processing is available to accelerate your I-129 adjudication. Building in a 90-day buffer before your intended start date reduces risk from USCIS processing variation.
