About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About The Role
This role will establish and lead the Customer Programs function inside Enterprise Marketing — the team accountable for how Anthropic engages its most strategic customers. The mandate is to start with the audience: build and govern the contact map of executives and decision-makers across our top-tier accounts, then design the portfolio of high-touch programs (Customer Advisory Boards, Executive Briefings, early access programs, co-marketing investment, customer references) to that map. This leader brings these initiatives under one strategy and owner. A defining feature of this role is serving as the single point of contact to our leadership for our executive-level customer programs. You will work closely with the office of our Chief Commercial Officer and Sales leadership to represent what we are asking of our top customers, what they are getting from us, and what they are telling us — with workstreams and a team behind you. You will also be the standing voice of these customers inside Anthropic, ensuring their priorities are understood by Product, GTM, and company leadership. You will hire and manage a team covering advisory boards, executive briefings, early access programs, and more.
You may be a good fit if you have:
- 10+ years in B2B enterprise marketing, customer marketing, or executive programs, including 4+ years leading a team.
- Built or significantly scaled an executive customer programs function (CABs, EBCs, executive sponsor programs, customer advocacy) at a high-growth enterprise technology company.
- A track record of being the trusted marketing counterpart to a CRO/CCO and enterprise Sales leadership — you have been the one person in the room representing customer programs to the head of the commercial org.
- Demonstrated executive presence with Fortune 500 C-suite and VP-level customers; you have personally recruited, hosted, and maintained CAB-level relationships.
- Experience designing programs from an audience-first model: starting with a named-account list and building format, content, and cadence to it, rather than filling seats for pre-built events.
- Strong cross-functional operating skills — you can define remits with adjacent teams (product marketing, events, solutions, field) and hold the line on them without friction becoming the story.
- Comfort owning a number: you have reported on coverage, engagement, and influenced pipeline/expansion and can stand behind the methodology.
- Clear written and verbal communication; you can brief an executive in three bullets and write the memo behind it.
- Genuine interest in AI and in helping the world's largest enterprises adopt it responsibly.
Responsibilities
- Build the Customer Programs function: define the strategy, hire the team, establish the operating model with PMM, Strategic Events, Solutions, ABM, and Sales leadership.
- Serve as the single accountable owner to the CCO and Sales leadership for Customer Advisory Boards and executive customer engagement.
- Own the governed strategic-account audience: the named list of executives and decision-makers across our lighthouse accounts that every high-touch program draws from, maintained in partnership with sales leadership.
- Design and run the portfolio of high-touch customer programs end to end: CAB charter and membership, EBC intake and programming, early access customer selection and feedback loops, co-marketing fund deployment, and the customer reference and speaker bench.
- Act as the voice of strategic customers inside Anthropic — bring their priorities and feedback into Product, GTM, and leadership forums, and make sure the company treats supporting them as a priority.
- Coordinate the asks we make of top customers across the company so that no executive is over-approached and every engagement is intentional.
- Own reporting on account coverage, engagement depth, and program-influenced expansion to Sales and Marketing leadership; build toward an incrementality view over time.
- Partner cross-functionally on execution — this team is the single-threaded owner of these programs (audience, programming, customer and Sales comms) and orchestrates specialists for content and production. Over time, this includes partnering with Brand on the executive hospitality standard, and how Anthropic shows up when we host our most important customers.
Annual Salary
$255,000—$320,000 USD
Logistics
Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience
Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position
Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.
Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.
We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team.

How We're Different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills. The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

Frame Your AI Fluency as Core Competency
Anthropic evaluates partnership candidates on their ability to engage technical stakeholders, not just close deals. Prepare case examples showing you've navigated conversations with researchers or engineers, because generic BD experience won't differentiate you here.
Target Anthropic's Enterprise and Research Verticals
Anthropic's partnership function spans cloud providers, academic institutions, and policy-adjacent organizations. Tailor your outreach to the specific vertical you're targeting rather than applying broadly, since hiring managers look for candidates with relevant ecosystem relationships already in place.
Clarify Your Visa Category Before Applying
Anthropic sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for this role. Knowing which category applies to you before your first interview prevents delays. Australian citizens on the E-3 path and Singaporean or Chilean nationals on the H-1B1 path have faster, cap-exempt processing compared to the H-1B lottery.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Active Openings
Partnership Development Manager roles at Anthropic open and close quickly. Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsorship-eligible positions at Anthropic so you're applying to live openings where visa support for your category is already confirmed.
Align Your Offer Timeline with LCA Filing Requirements
Before USCIS can process your H-1B or E-3 petition, your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL certifying prevailing wage compliance. Build at least two to three weeks of LCA processing time into your expected start date conversation with the Anthropic recruiting team.
Prepare a Specialty Occupation Narrative for Your Role
Partnership Development Manager petitions at AI research companies sometimes receive USCIS scrutiny over specialty occupation classification. Document how your role requires a specific bachelor's degree field, such as computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline, not just any degree.

Find Partnership Development Manager at Anthropic JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Anthropic sponsor H-1B visas for Partnership Development Managers?
Yes, Anthropic sponsors H-1B visas for Partnership Development Manager roles. The company has an active sponsorship track record for this function and supports candidates through the full USCIS petition process, including premium processing in many cases. If you're subject to the H-1B cap, timing your application around the April lottery window is essential since H-1B petitions for cap-subject candidates can only be filed once per fiscal year.
Which visa types does Anthropic sponsor for Partnership Development Manager roles?
Anthropic sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for Partnership Development Managers. Australian citizens qualify for the E-3, which has no lottery and allows faster processing. Singaporean and Chilean nationals qualify for the H-1B1, which is also cap-exempt. All three categories require a Labor Condition Application certified by the DOL before USCIS can process the petition.
How do I apply for Partnership Development Manager jobs at Anthropic?
Applications go through Anthropic's careers portal, where roles are listed by department. You can browse and filter active Partnership Development Manager openings that support visa sponsorship using Migrate Mate, which surfaces verified sponsorship-eligible positions. Anthropic's process typically includes a recruiter screen, a take-home or case exercise, and a panel interview involving both business development and cross-functional technical stakeholders.
What qualifications does Anthropic expect for Partnership Development Manager candidates?
Anthropic looks for candidates with a background in enterprise partnerships, business development, or strategic alliances, ideally within AI, cloud infrastructure, or research-adjacent industries. A bachelor's degree in a relevant technical or business field is typically required. Familiarity with how large language models or AI APIs are deployed commercially is a strong differentiator, since the role involves working closely with technical counterparts and sophisticated enterprise buyers.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Partnership Development Manager offer at Anthropic?
Timeline depends on your visa category. E-3 and H-1B1 petitions generally take two to six weeks after the DOL certifies the LCA. Standard H-1B processing runs three to six months, though premium processing with USCIS reduces adjudication to 15 business days. For cap-subject H-1B candidates, the lottery runs in March for an October 1 start date, so plan your job search timeline around that window.
