Responsibilities:
- Build and lead a high-performing team of Strategic AEs - coaching, mentoring, and developing reps to consistently exceed revenue targets

Logistics
Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience
Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position
Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.
Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.
We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team.

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

Frame Your Background Around AI Sales
Anthropic's Sales roles focus on selling to research institutions, enterprises, and developers, not traditional SaaS buyers. Tailor your resume to show experience with technical products, complex sales cycles, or customers in science and research environments.
Confirm E-3 or H-1B1 Eligibility Early
If you're Australian, the E-3 lets you skip the H-1B lottery entirely and apply year-round. Canadians and Chileans may qualify for the H-1B1 visa. Confirming your visa category before applying shapes the timeline conversation you'll have with a recruiter.
Surface Sponsorship Intent in the Recruiter Screen
Anthropic's recruiting process moves quickly. Raise your visa status in the first recruiter call, not after an offer. This lets the hiring team align with their legal department early and avoids delays at the offer stage.
Understand Where You Fit in the Petition Timeline
For H-1B cap-subject petitions, USCIS registration opens in March and employment can start October 1. If you're interviewing outside that window, ask whether the role qualifies for cap-exempt filing or whether the employer will hold the start date.
Search Verified Sponsoring Employers Before Applying
Use Migrate Mate to filter Sales roles at companies with a confirmed sponsorship history. Targeting employers who have filed for similar roles reduces the risk of investing in an interview process where sponsorship is unlikely to be approved.
Get Your LCA and Offer Letter Details Aligned
The Labor Condition Application the employer files with DOL must reflect your actual work location and prevailing wage for that area. If you're working remotely or in a different city than Anthropic's offices, flag this with your HR contact before the petition is filed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Anthropic sponsor H-1B visas for Sales roles?
Yes, Anthropic sponsors H-1B visas for Sales positions. The company has an active sponsorship track record across this function, which includes both cap-subject H-1B petitions and other nonimmigrant categories. If you need H-1B sponsorship, raise it early in the recruiting process so the legal team can assess your situation against the role's timeline.
Which visa types does Anthropic commonly use for Sales positions?
Anthropic sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 visa, and E-3 visas for Sales roles. H-1B is the most common path for applicants from most countries. Australian citizens can use the E-3, which has no lottery and allows year-round applications. Chilean and Singaporean nationals may qualify for the H-1B1, which also bypasses the annual cap.
What qualifications does Anthropic expect for Sales roles?
Anthropic's Sales team works with enterprise customers, research institutions, and developers adopting AI tools, so the company typically looks for experience with technical or complex products. A background in software, SaaS, or developer tools is relevant. Visa sponsorship is available for qualified candidates, but the role itself requires demonstrated sales performance in a technical environment.
How do I apply for Sales jobs at Anthropic?
You can browse and apply for Sales roles at Anthropic directly through their careers page, or use Migrate Mate to find open positions filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility. Before applying, confirm whether your visa category requires cap-subject H-1B filing or if you qualify for an alternative path like E-3 or H-1B1 visa, since that affects your start date and timeline.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Sales role at Anthropic?
Timeline depends on your visa type. E-3 and H-1B1 visa applications are processed at a U.S. consulate and can move in a matter of weeks. Cap-subject H-1B petitions follow a fixed USCIS schedule with a March registration window and an October 1 start date. USCIS premium processing, currently available for H-1B petitions, can reduce adjudication time to 15 business days.
