How We're Different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills. The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

Frame Your Experience Around AI Partnerships
Anthropic's BD roles focus on research commercialization and enterprise AI deployment. Reframe past deal experience around technical partnership structures, API integrations, or platform licensing to align with how they scope these positions.
Target Roles That Match Specialty Occupation Standards
H-1B eligibility requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS criteria. BD roles at Anthropic typically require a degree in business, economics, or a technical field, so highlight that specific degree-to-role alignment in your application materials.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Anthropic BD Openings
Anthropic posts Business Development roles across multiple levels, and not all are visa-eligible at the same time. Use Migrate Mate to filter Anthropic's active openings by visa type so you're only pursuing roles where sponsorship is confirmed.

Find Business Development at Anthropic JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Anthropic sponsor H-1B visas for Business Developments?
Yes, Anthropic sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development roles. The company has a consistent track record of supporting visa petitions for this function, including through the annual H-1B cap lottery. If you're subject to the cap, timing your application around the April 1 filing window is critical to securing an October 1 start date.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at Anthropic?
Applications go through Anthropic's careers page, where BD roles are listed by seniority and focus area. To find openings already filtered for visa sponsorship eligibility, use Migrate Mate, which surfaces Anthropic's active Business Development positions alongside confirmed sponsorship details, saving you from applying to roles that won't support your visa status.
Which visa types does Anthropic sponsor for Business Development roles?
Anthropic sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for Business Development positions. H-1B applies to most nationalities and is subject to the annual cap lottery. H-1B1 is available to citizens of Chile and Singapore and is not lottery-based. E-3 is exclusive to Australian citizens and allows for two-year renewable periods with a separate annual allocation.
What qualifications does Anthropic expect for Business Development roles?
Anthropic typically looks for candidates with a degree in business, economics, computer science, or a related field, combined with experience in enterprise sales, strategic partnerships, or technical BD in a software or AI context. Roles often require demonstrated ability to manage complex deal cycles with technical counterparts, so fluency in AI product capabilities strengthens your candidacy significantly.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Business Development offer at Anthropic?
For E-3 applicants, the timeline from offer to visa approval typically runs four to eight weeks, including DOL Labor Condition Application certification and a consular interview in Australia. H-1B timelines depend on whether premium processing is used. USCIS premium processing currently targets a 15 business day adjudication window, though LCA preparation adds time before the petition can be filed.
