Align your credentials with PE licensing expectations
Arcadis often expects Electrical Project Engineers to be working toward or already holding a Professional Engineer license. Getting your EIT certification before applying signals you're on the PE pathway, which directly strengthens your specialty occupation case for H-1B sponsorship.
Target Arcadis practice areas with active delivery pipelines
Arcadis structures hiring around infrastructure, water, and environment practices. Electrical Project Engineer openings cluster around energy and urban infrastructure programs, so filtering applications to those practice areas improves your odds of landing a team that regularly sponsors roles like yours.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active Arcadis openings filtered by visa type
Arcadis posts Electrical Project Engineer roles across multiple U.S. offices, and availability shifts frequently. Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for Arcadis positions that support your visa category, so you're applying to roles where sponsorship is already on the table.
Clarify your OPT or CPT timeline during early conversations
If you're on F-1 OPT, Arcadis will need to assess whether your remaining authorization covers their typical onboarding timeline. Proactively confirming your OPT end date and STEM extension eligibility before the offer stage prevents delays that can derail otherwise strong candidacies.
Understand how consulting project assignments affect your LCA
Arcadis places engineers on client project sites, which means the Department of Labor's Labor Condition Application must reflect your actual worksite locations. If you rotate across multiple sites, your employer will need to manage LCA compliance carefully, so ask how Arcadis handles this during the offer process.
Request the H-1B filing timeline before signing your offer letter
USCIS H-1B cap registration opens in March for an October 1 start date. If you're not cap-exempt and your offer comes outside that window, confirm whether Arcadis will carry your salary during any gap or bridge you on another status while you wait for the next cycle.

Find Electrical Project Engineer at Arcadis JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Arcadis sponsor H-1B visas for Electrical Project Engineers?
Yes, Arcadis sponsors H-1B visas for Electrical Project Engineers. The role qualifies as a specialty occupation because it requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field. Arcadis operates as a global consulting firm with U.S. immigration infrastructure in place, so sponsorship for this function is part of their standard hiring process for qualified international candidates.
Which visa types does Arcadis commonly use for Electrical Project Engineer roles?
Arcadis sponsors Electrical Project Engineers under several visa categories, including H-1B, H-1B1 for Chilean and Singaporean nationals, TN for Canadian and Mexican engineers, F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates, J-1 for trainees or exchange visitors, and employment-based Green Card pathways such as EB-2 and EB-3 for longer-term hires. The right category depends on your nationality, degree, and career stage.
How do I apply for Electrical Project Engineer jobs at Arcadis?
Applications go through Arcadis's careers portal, where you can search by role title and U.S. location. To find openings that are actively open to visa sponsorship, Migrate Mate aggregates Arcadis listings and lets you filter by visa type so you can apply to the right positions from the start. Tailor your resume to reflect relevant project delivery experience and, if applicable, your EIT or PE status.
What qualifications does Arcadis expect for Electrical Project Engineer candidates?
Arcadis typically requires a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited program, along with demonstrated experience in power systems, electrical design, or infrastructure projects. Familiarity with design tools such as AutoCAD or ETAP is commonly expected. Candidates pursuing or holding an Engineer in Training or Professional Engineer credential are viewed favorably, particularly for roles with client-facing or project lead responsibilities.
How do I navigate the sponsorship and filing timeline at Arcadis?
The timeline depends on your current status. F-1 OPT holders can start immediately while Arcadis files an H-1B during the March registration window, with the cap-subject petition effective October 1. TN and H-1B1 candidates can often start sooner since those categories aren't cap-subject. For Green Card sponsorship, the PERM labor certification process through the DOL typically begins after a period of employment. Confirm these specifics with Arcadis's immigration team during the offer stage.
