Align your credentials to Eaton's project scope
Eaton's Electrical Project Engineer roles often require familiarity with power distribution systems, switchgear, and NEC or IEC standards. Credentialing your degree equivalency through a recognized evaluation service strengthens your application before you approach any hiring manager.
Target Eaton's energy and manufacturing business segments
Eaton hires Electrical Project Engineers most heavily within its Electrical Sector, covering utility, industrial, and commercial power projects. Filtering your job search by these segments surfaces roles where sponsorship pathways are most established and consistently used.
Search open Electrical Project Engineer roles on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to browse current Electrical Project Engineer openings at Eaton filtered by visa type, so you're only spending time on roles where sponsorship is confirmed and actively offered.
Understand how PERM affects your green card timeline
Eaton sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 green cards for engineers, which requires DOL PERM labor certification. That process typically takes one to two years before your I-140 petition is even filed, so factor this into your long-term planning from the offer stage.
Prepare project delivery examples tied to power systems
Eaton's technical interviews for this role focus on real project outcomes: load calculations, system commissioning, and cross-functional coordination on manufacturing sites. Concrete examples from past engineering work materially improve your chances of clearing the technical screen.

Find Electrical Project Engineer at Eaton JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Eaton sponsor H-1B visas for Electrical Project Engineers?
Yes, Eaton sponsors H-1B visas for Electrical Project Engineers. The company has a documented history of filing H-1B petitions for engineering roles across its manufacturing and energy infrastructure divisions. If you're in H-1B status or pursuing a cap-subject petition, confirm sponsorship intent directly with the recruiter once you reach the offer stage, since individual business units manage hiring decisions independently.
Which visa types does Eaton commonly sponsor for Electrical Project Engineers?
Eaton sponsors H-1B visas for most international engineering hires and supports F-1 OPT and CPT for students and recent graduates. For longer-term employment, Eaton also sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 green card pathways through DOL PERM labor certification. Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering roles may also be eligible for TN status, which does not require an employer-filed USCIS petition.
What qualifications and experience does Eaton expect for Electrical Project Engineers?
Eaton typically expects a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field. Hands-on experience with power distribution, switchgear, or industrial control systems is a strong differentiator. Familiarity with NEC or IEC standards, project management processes, and client-facing delivery is common across postings. A Professional Engineer license or progress toward one can strengthen your candidacy for senior-level openings.
How do I apply for Electrical Project Engineer jobs at Eaton?
You can apply directly through Eaton's careers portal or browse current openings filtered by visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles where sponsorship is confirmed. When applying, tailor your resume to reflect power systems project experience and specify your work authorization status clearly. Eaton's recruiting process typically includes a technical screen followed by panel interviews with project and engineering managers.
How do I plan my timeline if Eaton is sponsoring my H-1B while I'm on OPT?
H-1B petitions for an October 1 start must be filed with USCIS by April 1, which means your offer and internal approvals need to be finalized well before that window opens. If your OPT expires before October 1 and you hold a STEM degree, a 24-month STEM OPT extension can bridge the gap. Confirm your degree's STEM eligibility with your designated school official as early as possible.
