Align Your Credentials to U.S. Standards Early
If your engineering degree is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation from NACES-member organization before applying. Arcadis roles often require a PE license or progress toward one, and having a recognized equivalency on file speeds up the offer process.
Target Arcadis Offices Near Major Grid Projects
Arcadis staffs power systems engineers closest to active transmission, renewable integration, and utility modernization projects. Searching by office location tied to those project pipelines puts your application in front of the teams with the most active hiring needs.
Clarify LCA Prevailing Wage Before Negotiating Salary
Arcadis must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL before your H-1B petition. The LCA locks in a prevailing wage floor for your role and location. Know your region's wage level before salary discussions so the offer doesn't fall below what DOL will certify.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Open Roles Efficiently
Filtering for Senior Power Systems Engineer positions at employers with active sponsorship histories is faster on Migrate Mate than manual job board searches. You can surface Arcadis openings alongside their sponsorship track record in one place.
Ask About Cap-Exempt Filing Paths During Interviews
If you're currently on OPT or CPT and your H-1B lottery registration wasn't selected, ask your Arcadis recruiter whether any project placements involve cap-exempt institutions. Some consulting engagements with qualifying nonprofits or universities open a direct H-1B filing route outside the lottery.
Plan Around USCIS Processing Windows for Your Start Date
H-1B petitions filed for October 1 start dates must be submitted by April 1. If your offer comes late in the selection cycle, confirm with Arcadis's immigration team whether premium processing is available, since standard processing can run three to five months.

Find Senior Power Systems Engineer at Arcadis JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Arcadis sponsor H-1B visas for Senior Power Systems Engineers?
Yes, Arcadis sponsors H-1B visas for Senior Power Systems Engineer roles. The company has an active immigration program that supports engineering hires who need work authorization. Sponsorship typically begins after a formal offer, with Arcadis working with outside immigration counsel to file the Labor Condition Application with DOL and then the H-1B petition with USCIS.
How do I apply for Senior Power Systems Engineer jobs at Arcadis?
Applications go through the Arcadis careers portal. Search by job title and filter for locations tied to energy and infrastructure practices. You can also browse Senior Power Systems Engineer openings at Arcadis through Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles alongside sponsorship context so you can prioritize applications more efficiently. Tailor your resume to utility systems, load flow analysis, or grid modernization work depending on the specific posting.
Which visa types does Arcadis commonly use for Senior Power Systems Engineers?
Arcadis sponsors H-1B and H-1B1 visas for most engineering hires, along with TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering roles. For F-1 students, OPT and CPT are supported during early-career stages. Longer-term sponsorship can include EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card pathways, typically after you've established tenure in the role.
What qualifications does Arcadis expect for a Senior Power Systems Engineer?
Most Senior Power Systems Engineer postings at Arcadis expect a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and several years of experience in power systems analysis, transmission planning, or utility consulting. A Professional Engineer license is frequently listed as required or strongly preferred. Proficiency in software like PSS/E, PSCAD, or ETAP is commonly specified, and prior consulting or owner's engineer experience strengthens your application.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for an Arcadis engineering role?
For H-1B sponsorship, the timeline depends on the lottery and USCIS processing. Cap-subject petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start, so offers typically need to be finalized by February or March. Premium processing through USCIS can reduce adjudication to around 15 business days once filed. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship takes significantly longer, often two to four years depending on your country of birth and priority date.
