Align your credentials to U.S. licensure expectations
Arcadis project engineering roles often require or expect EIT registration, and PE licensure accelerates advancement. Get your foreign engineering credentials evaluated by NCEES before applying so your qualifications translate clearly to U.S. hiring managers.
Target Arcadis practices with active infrastructure pipelines
Arcadis staffs Structural Project Engineers across water infrastructure, transportation, and buildings sectors. Roles tied to large public infrastructure contracts tend to move faster to offer and sponsorship because project funding is already secured.
Negotiate your start date around H-1B cap timelines
If you need a cap-subject H-1B, USCIS only allows an October 1 start date for that fiscal year's lottery. Discuss this with your Arcadis recruiter early so your offer letter and onboarding plan reflect the correct earliest start date.
Use DOL LCA disclosures to benchmark your offer
Before accepting an offer, search the DOL Labor Condition Application disclosure data for Arcadis structural engineering roles in your target city. This shows the prevailing wage USCIS will hold your salary against, so you can spot any gaps before they become filing problems.
Find open Structural Project Engineer roles at Arcadis on Migrate Mate
Searching broadly across generic job boards surfaces roles that don't sponsor visas. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Arcadis Structural Project Engineer openings confirmed for visa sponsorship, so your applications go where they'll actually convert.
Prepare for PERM if you're planning a long-term path
Arcadis sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, but PERM labor certification requires detailed documentation of your role's requirements and your qualifications. Start organizing degree transcripts, employment records, and professional references well before your employer initiates the PERM process with DOL.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Arcadis sponsor H-1B visas for Structural Project Engineers?
Yes, Arcadis sponsors H-1B visas for Structural Project Engineers and has a consistent track record of doing so across its U.S. offices. Structural engineering meets USCIS specialty occupation requirements given the degree-level technical expertise the role demands. Arcadis also sponsors H-1B1 visas for eligible Chilean and Singaporean nationals, which bypasses the annual H-1B lottery entirely.
How do I apply for Structural Project Engineer jobs at Arcadis?
Applications go through Arcadis's careers portal, where roles are listed by practice area and office location. To find openings confirmed for visa sponsorship, browse Migrate Mate's Arcadis listings directly. When applying, tailor your resume to reflect project delivery experience relevant to Arcadis's core sectors, such as transportation, water infrastructure, or buildings, and highlight any EIT or PE credentials prominently.
Which visa types does Arcadis commonly use for Structural Project Engineers?
Arcadis uses several visa categories for Structural Project Engineers depending on your background and career stage. H-1B is the most common nonimmigrant path for degree-holding engineers. F-1 OPT and CPT allow recent graduates to work during their studies or post-completion period. TN visas cover Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering roles. For long-term permanent residence, Arcadis sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards through PERM labor certification.
What qualifications does Arcadis expect for Structural Project Engineers?
Arcadis typically expects a bachelor's degree or higher in civil or structural engineering from an accredited program. EIT registration is often expected at the project engineer level, with PE licensure valued for senior roles. Project experience in infrastructure delivery, steel or concrete design, and familiarity with U.S. building codes such as AISC and ACI strengthens your application considerably in a consulting context.
How do I navigate the visa sponsorship timeline when targeting Arcadis?
The timeline depends heavily on your visa category. F-1 OPT allows you to start quickly if you're within your authorized period. Cap-subject H-1B petitions must be filed in April for an October 1 start date, so offers typically need to be in place by March. If Arcadis pursues a Green Card through PERM, expect the DOL audit and USCIS petition process to span one to three years depending on your priority date and country of birth.
