Verify Your Clinical Credentials Transfer Cleanly
State licensure requirements for physical therapists and rehab specialists vary significantly. Before applying, confirm your foreign credentials have been evaluated by an approved body and align with the specific state where Athletico is hiring.
Target Locations With Active Rehab Openings
Athletico operates clinics across multiple states, and sponsorship decisions are typically tied to specific facility needs. Focus your applications on regions where Healthcare openings are listed, not just markets you prefer to live in.
Start OPT Early to Cover Onboarding Lead Times
Athletico's clinical onboarding involves credentialing and background checks that can take several weeks. Apply early enough that your OPT start date gives you a buffer before your authorized employment window tightens.
Clarify TN Eligibility for Your Specific Role
TN status covers defined healthcare occupations for Canadian and Mexican nationals, including physical therapists. Confirm your exact job title at Athletico maps to a qualifying TN category before relying on that pathway in offer negotiations.
Raise Sponsorship Directly After a Technical Interview
Athletico's recruitment teams handle sponsorship decisions with their HR and legal departments. Once you've cleared a clinical skills screen, ask specifically whether the role is approved for H-1B filing rather than waiting until the offer stage.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Sponsoring Healthcare Roles
Filtering for Healthcare openings at employers with a sponsorship history saves significant time. Use Migrate Mate to identify Athletico roles that align with your visa type before submitting applications through their careers portal.

Find Healthcare at Athletico JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Athletico sponsor H-1B visas for Healthcares?
Athletico has sponsored H-1B visas for Healthcare roles and is registered with E-Verify, which is a prerequisite for H-1B employment. Sponsorship decisions are made on a role-by-role basis, so it's worth confirming directly with the recruiter whether the specific position you're applying to is approved for H-1B filing before you reach the offer stage.
How do I apply for Healthcare jobs at Athletico?
Applications go through Athletico's careers portal, where Healthcare roles are listed by location and specialty. Before applying, confirm your clinical credentials are recognized in the relevant state. If you need visa sponsorship, flag your work authorization status in the application or early in the recruiter conversation so the team can assess the role's eligibility.
Which visa types are commonly used for Healthcare roles at Athletico?
Athletico has supported F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, H-1B, and TN visa holders in Healthcare positions. OPT and CPT are common entry points for recent graduates in physical therapy or related fields. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals whose role maps to a qualifying healthcare occupation. H-1B becomes relevant for longer-term sponsorship once you've secured an offer.
What qualifications does Athletico expect for Healthcare roles?
Most clinical Healthcare roles at Athletico require a degree in physical therapy, occupational therapy, or a related discipline, plus active state licensure in the location where you'll be working. For international candidates, foreign degree evaluations are often required to confirm equivalency to U.S. standards. Practical clinical hours and specialty certifications can strengthen an application for more senior positions.
How do timelines work when pursuing an H-1B at Athletico?
USCIS opens H-1B registration in March for a cap-subject petition, with an October 1 start date if selected. That means you need an offer well before March to be included in the lottery. If you're on OPT with a STEM extension, you may have enough runway to stay employed while Athletico files. Use Migrate Mate to find open Healthcare roles early enough to align your application timeline with the H-1B cycle.
