Align your resume to Broadcom's QA stack
Broadcom's QA roles span semiconductor firmware, networking silicon, and enterprise software. Tailor your resume to the specific product line you're targeting, calling out experience with automated testing frameworks, hardware validation, or protocol testing as relevant.
Distinguish your degree field before applying
H-1B eligibility for QA Engineers requires a specialty occupation with a degree in a directly related field. Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, and Software Engineering are cleanest matches. A general business or unrelated technical degree can complicate the petition, so clarify your qualifications upfront.
Target Broadcom's campus recruiting pipeline for OPT
If you're on F-1 OPT, Broadcom recruits through university partnerships for engineering roles. Apply before OPT authorization begins, since USCIS requires a timely filed H-1B petition to bridge from OPT to H-1B status without a gap in work authorization.
Confirm sponsorship scope during the offer stage
Large semiconductor employers often sponsor H-1B transfers and new petitions but vary on Green Card timelines. Ask your recruiter directly whether the role includes PERM-based immigrant visa support, since EB-2 and EB-3 processes at Broadcom can differ by business unit.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open QA roles by visa type
Broadcom posts QA Engineer openings across multiple product divisions at once, and not all roles have the same sponsorship scope. Use Migrate Mate to filter active listings by the visa types you need, so you're only spending time on positions that fit your situation.
Prepare documentation for the LCA before your start date
Your employer files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before submitting your H-1B petition. Confirm your worksite location with your hiring manager early, since remote or hybrid arrangements at Broadcom's distributed offices affect which LCA prevailing wage area applies to your role.

Does Broadcom sponsor H-1B visas for QA Engineers?
Yes, Broadcom sponsors H-1B visas for QA Engineers. The company has an established immigration program and works with outside counsel to file both new cap-subject petitions and H-1B transfers. QA Engineering roles typically qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS criteria, particularly when the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
Which visa types does Broadcom commonly sponsor for QA Engineers?
Broadcom sponsors H-1B visas as the primary work authorization path for QA Engineers, along with F-1 OPT and CPT for students in active programs. For longer-term immigration, the company supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process. TN status is also available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering roles.
What qualifications does Broadcom expect for QA Engineer roles?
Broadcom's QA Engineer roles typically require a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Software Engineering, along with hands-on experience in test automation, debugging, and validation. Roles tied to semiconductor or networking products often expect familiarity with hardware test environments or protocol-level testing. Advanced degrees can strengthen both your application and your visa petition's specialty occupation case.
How do I apply for QA Engineer jobs at Broadcom?
You can search and apply for QA Engineer positions at Broadcom through their careers portal, filtering by engineering function and location. If you need visa sponsorship, use Migrate Mate to browse Broadcom's open QA roles filtered by the visa type you're on, so you can quickly identify which postings are the right fit before applying directly.
How do I time my H-1B petition if I receive a QA Engineer offer from Broadcom?
H-1B cap-subject petitions can only be filed starting April 1 for an October 1 start date. If Broadcom extends you an offer outside that window, your start date will depend on the next available filing period. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your OPT expiration date against the H-1B timeline, since USCIS requires the petition to be filed before your OPT ends to maintain valid work authorization.
