Verify Your Credentials Before Applying
Nevada requires RN licensure through the Nevada State Board of Nursing, and foreign-educated nurses must complete a credential evaluation through CGFNS or an equivalent body. Get this started early since processing can take several months.
Target Units Matching Your Clinical Background
Carson Tahoe posts across med-surg, ICU, ED, and perioperative nursing. Applying to units where your documented clinical hours align strengthens your case for employer sponsorship, since EB-3 petitions require a defined specialty occupation match.
Browse Open Nursing Roles on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Carson Tahoe's current Nursing openings by sponsorship eligibility so you're only applying to roles actively open to international candidates, not spending time on positions that won't support a Green Card filing.
Prepare for the VisaScreen Requirement
USCIS requires all foreign-educated healthcare workers to hold a valid VisaScreen certificate from CGFNS before an immigrant visa or adjustment of status is approved. Confirm your English proficiency and licensure documentation meets this standard before your petition is filed.
Ask Directly About Sponsorship During the Interview
Carson Tahoe's HR team handles sponsorship case-by-case at the unit level. During your interview, ask which immigration counsel the facility uses and whether the role has an approved recruitment process for PERM, so you know the filing is already in motion.

Find Nursing at Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare sponsor H-1B visas for Nursings?
Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare's documented sponsorship activity for Nursing roles is focused on employment-based Green Card pathways, specifically EB-2 and EB-3, rather than H-1B visas. Most registered nursing positions do not qualify as H-1B specialty occupations under USCIS criteria, so the EB-3 route through PERM labor certification is the standard path for international nurses at this organization.
Which visa types are commonly used for Nursing roles at Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare?
The EB-3 immigrant visa is the most common pathway for international nurses at Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare, covering positions such as Registered Nurse where a bachelor's degree or equivalent is required. EB-2 may apply for advanced practice roles requiring a master's degree. Both pathways require PERM labor certification filed with the DOL before USCIS adjudicates the immigrant petition.
How do I apply for Nursing jobs at Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare?
You can find and apply to current Nursing openings at Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship eligibility so you can focus on positions actively open to international candidates. When applying, highlight your clinical specialty, any U.S. licensure or CGFNS credential evaluation, and your VisaScreen status if already completed, as these materially affect how quickly sponsorship can proceed.
What qualifications does Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare expect for sponsored Nursing positions?
For most RN roles, Carson Tahoe expects an active Nevada nursing license or eligibility for endorsement, graduation from an accredited nursing program, and relevant clinical experience in the relevant unit specialty, such as med-surg, ICU, or ED. Foreign-educated nurses should have a CGFNS credential evaluation completed and English proficiency documented, as both are required by USCIS for immigrant visa approval under the VisaScreen program.
How do I estimate the timeline for Green Card sponsorship at Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare?
The process typically begins with PERM labor certification at the DOL, which can take 12 to 18 months or longer depending on audit risk. After USCIS approves the I-140 petition, your priority date must be current before you can file for adjustment of status. For EB-3 applicants born in high-demand countries, visa backlogs can extend the total timeline significantly beyond the petition stage.
