Tailor your resume to NPI workflows
Celestica's Project Engineer postings consistently emphasize new product introduction and manufacturing process ownership. Frame your resume around NPI milestones, BOM management, and cross-functional coordination so your credentials map directly to their engineering lifecycle.
Verify E-Verify enrollment before applying
Confirm Celestica's facility you're targeting is enrolled in E-Verify before your interview process advances. Federal contractor status can affect which visa types a site actively processes, and knowing this early prevents surprises during offer negotiations.
Clarify OPT versus TN eligibility upfront
Celestica sponsors both F-1 OPT and TN visas for engineering roles. If you hold a Canadian or Mexican degree in engineering, ask the recruiter about TN suitability early. TN authorization can move faster than OPT STEM extension timelines, which matters if your current work authorization is expiring.
Use Migrate Mate to target open roles
Celestica posts Project Engineer openings across multiple sites with varying sponsorship activity. Use Migrate Mate to filter for Celestica roles that match your visa type, so you're focusing your application effort on positions where your authorization status is already a fit.
Prepare for PERM documentation during EB-2 or EB-3 pursuit
If Celestica pursues a Green Card for your role via PERM labor certification, DOL requires documented proof that no qualified U.S. workers were available. Maintain detailed records of your credentials, foreign evaluations, and any specialized hardware or process certifications throughout the process.
Align your offer timeline with site-specific filing cycles
Celestica's sponsorship activity is concentrated in electronics manufacturing facilities with recurring project cycles. Negotiating your start date to align with a new product program launch or quarterly planning cycle increases the likelihood that your role has a well-defined scope, which strengthens the specialty occupation case in your I-129 petition.

Find Project Engineer at Celestica JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Celestica sponsor H-1B visas for Project Engineers?
Celestica's primary sponsorship activity for Project Engineer roles focuses on EB-2, EB-3, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas rather than H-1B. If H-1B sponsorship is important to your situation, confirm directly with the recruiter during the offer stage, as sponsorship availability can vary by facility and business need.
What visa types does Celestica commonly use for Project Engineer roles?
For Project Engineer positions, Celestica commonly works with F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican engineers who qualify under USMCA professional categories, and EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visa pathways for longer-term employment. TN and OPT tend to be the faster near-term options, while EB-2 and EB-3 require PERM labor certification through DOL.
What qualifications and experience does Celestica expect for Project Engineer roles?
Celestica's Project Engineer postings in the electronics and hardware sector typically require a bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering. Hands-on experience with new product introduction, manufacturing process control, and cross-functional program coordination is consistently emphasized. Familiarity with contract electronics manufacturing environments and tools like SAP or Arena PLM strengthens your candidacy meaningfully.
How do I apply for Project Engineer jobs at Celestica?
You can apply through Celestica's careers portal directly, or use Migrate Mate to browse Celestica's open Project Engineer roles filtered by visa sponsorship type so you only spend time on positions where your work authorization is a match. When applying, emphasize relevant manufacturing or hardware program experience and specify your current visa status clearly to avoid delays during the screening stage.
How do I plan my timeline if Celestica is sponsoring my Green Card as a Project Engineer?
EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through Celestica starts with PERM labor certification filed with DOL, which alone can take six months or longer. After USCIS approves the I-140 petition, your wait for an available visa number depends on your country of birth and the current priority date cutoffs published in the monthly Visa Bulletin. Starting this process while your nonimmigrant status remains valid is important.
