Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Project Engineer Jobs at Apple Jobs
Align your portfolio to Apple's hardware pipeline
Apple's Project Engineer roles emphasize cross-functional execution on physical products, not just design. Tailor your resume to show ownership of manufacturing readiness, NPI cycles, or supply chain coordination on consumer electronics or semiconductor hardware.
Get your credential evaluation done early
If your engineering degree is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved organization before you start applying. Apple's specialty occupation determination for Project Engineer roles requires a directly related degree, and a pending evaluation can delay LCA filing with the DOL.
Prepare for Apple's structured interview process
Apple's engineering interviews typically include behavioral rounds, a technical screen, and a cross-functional panel. Sponsors like Apple invest significant time before extending an offer, so aligning your timeline with their hiring cycles, typically heaviest in Q1 and Q3, increases your chances of clearing before H-1B cap deadlines.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Project Engineer roles
Identifying which Apple teams are actively hiring for Project Engineers, and which are open to sponsorship, takes time. Use Migrate Mate to filter Apple's open roles by visa type and stay ahead of new postings as they appear.
Clarify sponsorship terms before accepting an offer
Once Apple extends an offer, confirm in writing which visa category they'll file under and whether they cover premium processing through USCIS. For H-1B transfers from another employer, ask about the timing of the I-129 portability filing relative to your start date.

Find Project Engineer at Apple JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Apple sponsor H-1B visas for Project Engineers?
Yes, Apple sponsors H-1B visas for Project Engineers. The role qualifies as a specialty occupation because it requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in engineering or a closely related field. Apple typically files H-1B cap petitions in April for October 1 start dates, so the timing of your offer relative to the annual lottery registration window in March matters significantly.
Which visa types does Apple commonly sponsor for Project Engineers?
Apple sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 (for Singaporean and Chilean nationals), E-3 (for Australian nationals), TN (for Canadian and Mexican nationals under USMCA), F-1 OPT and CPT for students, and employment-based Green Card categories including EB-2 and EB-3. The right category depends on your nationality, education, and whether you're already in the U.S. or applying from abroad.
What qualifications does Apple expect for Project Engineer roles?
Most Project Engineer postings at Apple require a bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering. Practical experience with NPI processes, DFM analysis, or cross-functional product launches in consumer electronics or semiconductor environments is heavily weighted. Advanced degrees can strengthen an EB-2 petition later if you're pursuing a Green Card path.
How do I apply for Project Engineer jobs at Apple?
You can apply directly through Apple's careers portal, but sponsored roles don't always surface that filter clearly. Browse Project Engineer openings at Apple on Migrate Mate, which is built specifically to surface roles open to visa sponsorship. Apply early in Apple's hiring cycles, typically strongest in Q1 and Q3, and make sure your resume reflects hardware product lifecycle experience relevant to their teams.
How do I know if Apple will sponsor my specific visa category before I apply?
Apple publicly sponsors a broad range of nonimmigrant and immigrant visa types for engineering roles, but the category they file depends on your nationality and current status. For H-1B candidates, confirm the April filing window aligns with your offer timeline. For E-3 or TN, processing can move faster since those categories aren't subject to an annual cap or lottery. Ask the recruiter to confirm which categories their immigration counsel supports before your final interview.
