The ApplePay & Wallet Engineering organization is seeking for an experienced software engineer to define and lead quality architecture for next-generation, AI-driven digital experiences. In this role, you will lead the test automation strategy and evaluation frameworks for intelligent transactional systems, multi-step automated workflows, and complex API integrations. Additionally, you'll integrate the testing infrastructure with our continuous integration and continuous deployment systems to ensure that all the tools and services we develop undergo thorough testing and meet our quality standards. You will work cross-functionally with the development, product, and project management teams to deliver on aggressive timelines and ship eCommerce & Apple Pay features that surprise and delight our customers. Responsibilities
- Architect automation frameworks - Server and Client
- Work closely with developers to align on feature design, test plans and automation development for CI/CD
- Be a proponent for utilizing GenAI to assist with the above
- Provide go/no-go decisions to the executive team when releasing new features
- Deconstruct complicated features into comprehensive test plans that can be incorporated into our automation pipelines
- Collaborate with developers to "shift left" and catch bugs sooner
- Build, monitor, and enhance CI/CD pipelines
- Collaborate cross-functionally with technical and non-technical experts across Apple
- Mentor team members and provide technical leadership
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience with object-oriented programming
- BS/MS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- Excellent knowledge of the software development lifecycle, testing methodology, and testing tools
- Experience in developing test plans, assessing risk, filing appropriate defects, and providing relevant data for test reporting
- Able to work independently, raise issues, and take corrective action
- Experience developing and maintaining automation systems that scale
- Experience testing applications built for mobile devices
- Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Experience validating microservices (unit, component, contract, integration tests, etc)
- Passionate about clean code and OO design patterns
- Works well with tight timelines and under pressure

- Knowledge of operating systems and networks
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools
- Experience with contract testing tools
- Experience with service virtualization
- Experience with Kubernetes, AWS a bonus

Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $184,700 and $324,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
