Introduction to the Role and Practice
Centra’s PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) is a nationally recognized model of care serving adults aged 55 and older in our community. The mission of PACE is to deliver person-centered care in the setting that’s most appropriate for each participant—most often in the comfort and safety of their own home. Our home-based care approach allows participants to maintain independence while receiving comprehensive medical, social, and supportive services.
PACE is a capitated model of care, which means there are no productivity metrics, only a focus on delivering the care each participant truly needs. In this home health–focused model, providers conduct in-home visits, assess living environments, address safety concerns, and coordinate care transitions to reduce hospitalizations and support aging in place. Everything is coordinated with a dedicated interdisciplinary team of providers, nurses, dietitians, physical and occupational therapists, social workers, home health aides, activities coordinators, and transport staff to ensure seamless, wraparound care.
Centra’s PACE program is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider to join our team and help shape the future of our home-based care model. This is a unique opportunity to deliver comprehensive, relationship-centered care directly in participants’ homes and community settings. You will play a vital role in chronic disease management, medication reconciliation, preventive care, palliative support, and care plan oversight—meeting patients where they are physically and clinically.
If you value collaboration and are passionate about team-based care that prioritizes people over numbers while supporting aging in place, consider making PACE your home.

Obtain AWS Certifications Before Applying
Healthcare facilities like Centra Health prioritize Welders who hold AWS Certified Welder credentials for specific processes, such as SMAW or GTAW. Certifying before you apply removes a common barrier employers raise when evaluating sponsored candidates.
Target Facilities Maintenance Postings Directly
Centra Health lists Welder openings under facilities and engineering, not clinical departments. Searching specifically within that category on their careers portal surfaces roles faster and ensures you're reaching the hiring team that handles trades sponsorship decisions.
Understand How EB-3 PERM Applies to Trades Roles
Welder positions typically qualify under EB-3 as skilled workers, which requires a DOL-supervised PERM labor certification before Green Card filing. Confirm with the recruiter early whether Centra Health initiates PERM once you're hired, since timelines run 12 to 24 months from filing.
Confirm OPT STEM Extension Eligibility for Your Degree
F-1 OPT is viable for Welders with a relevant engineering or technology degree, but standard OPT runs only 12 months. If your field qualifies for the 24-month STEM extension, clarify this with Centra Health's HR team before accepting an offer to avoid gaps in work authorization.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Open Roles Efficiently
Centra Health posts Welder openings regularly, and tracking them manually is slow. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Welder roles at Centra Health that include visa sponsorship, so you're applying to verified opportunities without sifting through listings that won't support your status.
Prepare Documentation for a Prevailing Wage Determination
DOL requires Centra Health to pay the prevailing wage for your specific Welder job classification and Virginia work location before filing any sponsored petition. Request the job title and work site zip code from your recruiter so you can cross-reference the DOL wage library in advance.

Find Welder at Centra Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Centra Health sponsor H-1B visas for Welders?
Centra Health does not typically sponsor H-1B visas for Welder roles because H-1B requires a specialty occupation with a directly related bachelor's degree, and welding is classified as a skilled trade rather than a specialty occupation under USCIS definitions. Centra Health is more likely to support Welders through employment-based Green Card pathways such as EB-3, or through F-1 OPT and TN status where applicable.
How do I apply for Welder jobs at Centra Health?
Applications go through Centra Health's official careers portal, where Welder openings are listed under facilities and engineering. Before applying, confirm the posting explicitly mentions visa sponsorship or contact the recruiter directly to ask. You can also use Migrate Mate to browse verified Welder openings at Centra Health that include sponsorship, which saves time screening listings that won't support your immigration status.
Which visa types does Centra Health commonly use for Welder roles?
For Welder positions, Centra Health has sponsored candidates through EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based Green Card pathways, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN status for eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals, and J-1 exchange visitor programs. EB-3 is the most common long-term route for skilled trades workers, as it covers positions requiring at least two years of training or experience and does not require a specialty occupation degree.
What qualifications does Centra Health expect for sponsored Welder positions?
Centra Health typically looks for demonstrated welding experience across multiple processes such as MIG, TIG, or stick welding, along with the ability to read technical drawings and blueprints. AWS Certified Welder credentials strengthen your application significantly. For sponsored candidates, your qualifications also need to satisfy DOL's prevailing wage and job requirements documentation under the relevant visa category, so hands-on experience records and certifications should be well-documented before you apply.
How long does the sponsorship process take for a Welder at Centra Health?
Timeline depends heavily on the visa category. F-1 OPT authorization can be in place within a few months of your program end date. TN status for Canadian or Mexican nationals can be granted at the port of entry. EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through PERM labor certification is a multi-year process, often 18 months or more from the PERM filing alone, not counting subsequent USCIS petition and adjustment of status steps. Aligning your current work authorization with the employer's sponsorship timeline is critical to avoid gaps.
