Align your portfolio to retail data problems
Chewy's data engineering roles focus heavily on supply chain pipelines, customer behavior data, and inventory systems. Projects demonstrating experience with high-volume transactional data or e-commerce event streams will resonate more than generic ETL work.
Clarify sponsorship scope before accepting
Chewy supports multiple visa pathways, but not every team or role level authorizes all filing types. Ask your recruiter explicitly whether the role covers both H-1B and PERM-based Green Card sponsorship before you reach the offer stage.
Highlight cloud-native and warehouse experience in your resume
Chewy's engineering stack leans on cloud infrastructure and modern data warehousing. Specific experience with tools like Spark, Airflow, or Snowflake signals direct day-one fit and strengthens the specialty occupation case your employer builds for DOL and USCIS.
Search for open Data Engineer roles on Migrate Mate
Filter by sponsor type to surface Chewy's active Data Engineer postings alongside verified sponsorship history. This lets you prioritize applications where the company has already demonstrated willingness to file for this specific role category.
Request your LCA details after receiving an offer
Your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before submitting your H-1B petition. Reviewing the certified LCA confirms your posted wage, work location, and job title are accurately reflected before USCIS filing begins.

Find Data Engineer at Chewy JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Chewy sponsor H-1B visas for Data Engineers?
Yes, Chewy sponsors H-1B visas for Data Engineer roles. The company has an established process for filing petitions through USCIS, covering both initial cap-subject registrations for candidates on F-1 OPT and extensions for those already holding H-1B status. Confirming sponsorship with your specific recruiter is still recommended, as approval can vary by team and seniority level.
Which visa types does Chewy commonly sponsor for Data Engineers?
Chewy sponsors H-1B, TN, and F-1 OPT and CPT for Data Engineers, and also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term employees. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering roles. The specific pathway offered to you will depend on your nationality, current immigration status, and the role's seniority.
What qualifications does Chewy expect for Data Engineer roles?
Most Data Engineer postings at Chewy require a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field. Practical experience with distributed data pipelines, SQL, Python, and cloud platforms is consistently expected. Roles supporting Chewy's retail operations often also look for familiarity with large-scale transactional or clickstream data environments.
How do I apply for Data Engineer jobs at Chewy?
You can browse and apply for Data Engineer positions at Chewy through Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles with confirmed sponsorship history so you're not wasting time applying to positions where visa support is uncertain. When you apply directly, Chewy's recruiting team typically screens for technical fit first, followed by a system design and coding assessment before moving to offer and immigration discussions.
How do I plan my timeline if I need H-1B sponsorship at Chewy?
If you're on F-1 OPT, USCIS's H-1B cap registration window opens in March for an October 1 start date. You'll need to be employed or have an offer in place before your employer can register you. Starting conversations with Chewy's recruiting team in the fall or winter before your intended start gives both sides enough runway to prepare the petition and LCA filing with the DOL.
