About Cyngn
Based in Mountain View, CA, Cyngn is a publicly-traded autonomous technology company. We deploy self-driving industrial vehicles — specifically autonomous tuggers — to factories, warehouses, and other facilities throughout North America. To build this emergent technology, we are looking for innovative, motivated, and experienced leaders to join us and move this field forward. If you like to build, tinker, and create with a team of trusted and passionate colleagues, then Cyngn is the place for you. Key reasons to join Cyngn:
- We are small and big. With under 100 employees, Cyngn operates with the energy of a startup. On the other hand, we’re publicly traded. This means our employees not only work in close-knit teams with mentorship from company leaders—they also get access to the liquidity of our publicly-traded equity.
- We build today and deploy tomorrow. Our autonomous vehicles aren’t just test concepts—they’re deployed to real clients right now. That means your work will have a tangible, visible impact.
- We aren’t robots. We just develop them. We’re a welcoming, diverse team of sharp thinkers and kind humans. Collaboration and trust drive our creative environment. At Cyngn, everyone’s perspective matters—and that’s what powers our innovation.
About This Role
As Cyngn scales its production deployments of Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), we are seeking a highly capable Field Services Engineer to join our growing team. This role is essential to the success of our customer deployment production operations and requires both technical skill and field service acumen. You will be a key player in keeping our production systems running smoothly in real-world customer environments.
Responsibilities
- Travel to customer locations to perform installation, repair, upgrades, and calibration of production robotic systems.
- Conduct field-based diagnostics, perform root cause analysis, and execute corrective actions to maintain uptime.
- Collaborate with Engineering Services and Engineering teams to deploy software updates, log issues, and provide feedback from the field.
- Replace and configure hardware components, sensors, and subsystems as needed.
- Execute configuration and parameter changes, including network and system settings on deployed robots.
- Interface directly with customer teams to provide status updates, answer technical questions, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintain logs of service activity, diagnostics data, and configuration changes in a structured and reliable format.
- Support initial site bring-up and commissioning efforts for new deployments.
- Assist with documentation development and service procedure refinement.
- Support weekend and after-hours troubleshooting on an on-call rotation basis.
Qualifications
- 2+ years in a technical field service, robotics, or hardware support role.
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly (30–50% anticipated).
- Proficiency with Linux terminal, remote troubleshooting, and basic shell scripting.
- Strong hands-on skills with mechanical/electrical components and system-level debugging.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and work in industrial or warehouse environments.
- Capable of interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation.

- Monthly meal and tech allowances for remote employees
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking, including time at a desk and in industrial or customer environments.
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, and reaching to install, maintain, and repair robots.
- Ability to lift and maneuver objects up to 80 lbs.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Align your credentials to autonomous systems roles
Cyngn's Engineering roles sit at the intersection of robotics, computer vision, and vehicle autonomy. Frame your resume around systems-level work, sensor fusion, or real-time software development so your background maps directly to their technical stack.
Verify your OPT or CPT timeline before applying
F-1 students have a narrow window between graduation and OPT expiration. Confirm your OPT start date, STEM extension eligibility, and the 60-day grace period before targeting Cyngn so your authorization aligns with their typical onboarding timeline.
Target roles that match your specific visa category
Cyngn sponsors multiple visa types, but each category has distinct eligibility requirements. If you're pursuing TN status, confirm your engineering role falls under a qualifying USMCA occupation before submitting an application, since TN classification is role-specific.
Prepare your degree equivalency documentation early
For H-1B specialty occupation filings, USCIS requires a direct connection between your degree field and the job duties. If your degree is from a non-U.S. institution or in an adjacent field, get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved organization before the offer stage.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Engineering roles at Cyngn
Sponsorship-eligible Engineering positions at Cyngn aren't always clearly labeled on general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Cyngn's open roles by visa type so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is already confirmed.
Negotiate your start date around H-1B cap deadlines
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start. If you receive an offer in late spring or summer, work with your employer to clarify whether cap-exempt filing or a deferred start date applies to your situation.

Does Cyngn sponsor H-1B visas for Engineers?
Yes, Cyngn has a history of sponsoring H-1B visas for Engineering roles. Because Cyngn's positions in autonomous vehicle technology typically require specialized degrees in fields like computer science, electrical engineering, or robotics, they generally meet USCIS's specialty occupation standard. Confirm sponsorship availability with your recruiter early in the process, since not every open role is approved for sponsorship at the time of posting.
How do I apply for Engineering jobs at Cyngn?
Applications for Cyngn Engineering roles go through their careers page, but sponsorship-eligible positions aren't always clearly flagged there. Migrate Mate lets you browse Cyngn's open Engineering roles filtered by visa type, so you can identify the right opportunities before applying. Tailor your application to highlight relevant experience in autonomous systems, robotics, or embedded software to align with Cyngn's core technical needs.
Which visa types does Cyngn commonly sponsor for Engineering roles?
Cyngn sponsors multiple visa categories for Engineering positions, including H-1B, F-1 OPT and CPT, TN, and employment-based Green Card pathways such as EB-2 and EB-3. The right category depends on your nationality, current status, and the specific role. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering occupations, while H-1B and Green Card paths cover a broader range of nationalities and roles.
What qualifications and experience does Cyngn expect for Engineering roles?
Cyngn's Engineering team works on autonomous industrial vehicles, so roles typically require backgrounds in robotics, computer vision, embedded systems, full-stack software, or vehicle autonomy. A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a closely related field is standard. Hands-on experience with real-time systems, ROS, sensor integration, or machine learning frameworks tends to carry significant weight in their technical review process.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for Cyngn Engineering hires?
Timelines vary by visa type. F-1 OPT can begin shortly after graduation, while H-1B cap-subject filings require a March lottery registration and a minimum October 1 start date, meaning the process can take six months or more from offer to first day. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship for EB-2 or EB-3 involves DOL labor market testing and typically runs 12 to 24 months before the petition stage even begins.
