Align your credentials to Datadog's infrastructure stack
Datadog's hardware teams support large-scale data center operations. Before applying, document your experience with server hardware, cooling systems, or rack-and-stack deployments. Framing your background around enterprise infrastructure makes your application directly relevant.
Search Datadog's Mechanical Technician openings on Migrate Mate
Filter by visa type to surface roles that match your authorization status. Migrate Mate indexes open Mechanical Technician positions at Datadog alongside sponsorship history, so you can prioritize applications where sponsorship is actively supported.
Ask about prevailing wage tier during offer negotiations
DOL requires employers to pay the prevailing wage for your role and location. For Mechanical Technician positions, the wage tier affects both your offer and the Labor Condition Application Datadog files on your behalf. Clarify which tier applies before accepting.
Request written confirmation of sponsorship intent early
Get written acknowledgment that Datadog will sponsor your visa before you resign from a current role or let other offers expire. Verbal assurances during interviews don't bind the employer, and the H-1B cap lottery timeline leaves little room for last-minute changes.
Prepare technical documentation that supports specialty occupation status
USCIS scrutinizes H-1B petitions for roles outside pure software engineering. Gather degree transcripts, certifications, and a detailed job description from Datadog showing that the Mechanical Technician role requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific technical discipline.

Find Mechanical Technician at Datadog JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Datadog sponsor H-1B visas for Mechanical Technicians?
Yes, Datadog sponsors H-1B visas for Mechanical Technician roles. Because these positions support physical infrastructure in a technology environment, the role needs to meet USCIS's specialty occupation standard, meaning the job must require at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field. Your offer letter and job description should clearly reflect those requirements before the petition is filed.
How do I apply for Mechanical Technician jobs at Datadog?
You can browse open Mechanical Technician positions at Datadog on Migrate Mate, where listings are filtered by visa sponsorship type so you can find roles that match your authorization status. When applying directly, tailor your resume to Datadog's infrastructure environment, emphasizing hardware, data center systems, or network equipment experience. Following up with the recruiting team after submitting your application can help move your candidacy forward.
Which visa types does Datadog commonly use for Mechanical Technician roles?
Datadog sponsors several visa categories for Mechanical Technicians, including H-1B, H-1B1 (for Chilean and Singaporean nationals), TN (for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying technical occupations), and F-1 OPT and CPT for students in active programs. For permanent residency, Datadog also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways, which typically involve a PERM labor certification filed with the DOL.
What qualifications does Datadog expect for Mechanical Technician positions?
Datadog typically looks for candidates with hands-on experience in data center hardware, server installation and maintenance, mechanical or electrical systems, and physical network infrastructure. A degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a closely related technical field strengthens both your candidacy and any H-1B petition. Familiarity with large-scale cloud infrastructure environments is a practical differentiator given Datadog's product footprint.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Mechanical Technician at Datadog?
For H-1B petitions, the standard timeline from offer acceptance to start date spans several months, assuming you're selected in the April lottery and have a filing window that opens October 1. USCIS premium processing can reduce the adjudication period to 15 business days but doesn't affect lottery timing. TN and H-1B1 visas move faster since they're not subject to the cap or lottery. Build at least three to four months of buffer into your start date planning.
