Req ID: 223960
Position Overview
The Splicing Coordinator oversees fiber optic splicing operations for telecommunications construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and meet strict optical performance standards. This role involves coordinating between fiber engineers, splicing subcontractors, the client representative, and project stakeholders. Key tasks include reviewing splice matrices, overseeing fusion splicing (backbone and lateral), conducting OTDR/Power Meter testing audits, splicing scheduling, and managing the close-out documentation for fiber networks. This position is a technical leadership role, requiring deep "hands-on" splicing knowledge to troubleshoot light loss issues and manage specialized splicing crews in the field.
Job Duties

Conducts onsite visits to perform "ride-outs," ensuring enclosures are dressed properly and fiber slack is managed according to standards.
-
Ensures crews adhere to laser safety protocols and proper disposal of fiber shards/hazardous materials.
-
Leads the training of new splicers on specialized equipment, including fusion splicers, cleavers, and testing software.
-
Manages inventory of splicing consumables (sleeves, trays, pigtails) and specialized equipment maintenance.
-
Utilizes GIS software and fiber management systems to update "as-built" records after splicing completion.
-
Travels (up to 75%) to job sites to oversee splicing production and troubleshoot complex network handoffs.

Required: Expert-level knowledge of fiber optic network architecture (FTTH, HFC, and Long-haul) and various fiber types.
Required: Proficiency with splicing equipment (Fujikura, Sumitomo, etc.) and testing equipment (Viavi, EXFO).
Required: Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex splice matrices and blueprints.
Required: Good interpersonal skills for coordinating between engineering teams and field crews.

Target roles aligned with construction and resource management
Davey Resource Group's sponsorship activity centers on its core operations in construction and real estate. Focus your application on roles in field operations, project support, or resource management where international hiring has historically been most active.
Understand the H-2B seasonal hiring cycle
H-2B sponsorship follows strict seasonal windows tied to DOL certification deadlines. Research when Davey Resource Group typically opens seasonal roles and apply early, H-2B positions fill quickly once a sponsorship cap allocation is secured.
Canadian and Mexican professionals should assess TN eligibility early
TN sponsorship at Davey Resource Group is available for qualifying USMCA professionals. Confirm your role maps to an eligible TN category before applying, engineering, scientific, and technical roles in construction contexts are worth examining closely.
Search for verified openings through Migrate Mate

Find Davey Resource Group JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Davey Resource Group sponsor H-1B visas?
Based on available sponsorship data, Davey Resource Group does not have a track record of sponsoring H-1B visas. Their international hiring activity is concentrated in H-2B seasonal worker visas, F-1 OPT and CPT for students, and TN visas for Canadian and Mexican professionals. Job seekers requiring H-1B sponsorship should focus on employers with a documented H-1B filing history.
Which visa types does Davey Resource Group sponsor?
Davey Resource Group sponsors H-2B visas for temporary seasonal workers, F-1 OPT and CPT for international students gaining practical training, and TN visas for eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional roles. This mix reflects the company's focus on seasonal workforce needs and targeted professional hiring within the construction and real estate sector.
What types of roles at Davey Resource Group are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Davey Resource Group tends to align with the operational core of the business, field-based roles, construction support functions, and resource management positions. F-1 OPT and CPT sponsorship often extends to students in technical or applied disciplines completing practical training, while H-2B sponsorship is typically tied to seasonal labor demand across project cycles.
How do I find open visa-sponsored jobs at Davey Resource Group?
The most reliable approach is to search through a platform that tracks real sponsorship history rather than relying on job listings that may not disclose visa support upfront. Migrate Mate aggregates verified sponsor data so you can browse Davey Resource Group openings alongside their actual sponsorship track record, saving you the guesswork of cold-applying to roles that may not support your visa type.
How do I time my application to Davey Resource Group given their sponsorship patterns?
H-2B sponsorship is heavily calendar-driven, DOL certification must be filed months before the work start date, so seasonal openings often appear well in advance of the actual role. F-1 OPT applicants should apply with enough lead time before their program end date to allow for onboarding and any authorization processing. TN professionals can move faster since TN status can be obtained at the border, but role fit and documentation still require preparation.
