Align your credentials to U.S. tax practice
Deloitte's Tax Associate roles typically require a CPA track commitment or an LLM in Taxation. If your credentials are from outside the U.S., confirm your degree meets state CPA board equivalency requirements before applying.
Target offices with active tax practices
Deloitte's larger metro offices, including New York, Chicago, and San Jose, carry deeper tax specialty practices. Applying to these locations improves your odds of landing a role with dedicated international tax or transfer pricing teams that regularly sponsor visas.
Understand which visa fits your nationality
Deloitte sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 visa, and E-3 visas for Tax Associates. Australian citizens can pursue the E-3, which has no lottery. Chilean and Singaporean nationals qualify for H-1B1. Everyone else enters the H-1B cap, which uses a random lottery each April.
Apply through campus recruiting for the clearest sponsorship path
Deloitte's campus recruiting cycle, which typically runs from September through November, is when the firm makes the bulk of its Tax Associate offers. Sponsorship conversations happen earlier and more naturally in this pipeline than in lateral hiring.
Ask about the offer letter and LCA timing explicitly
Once you have an offer, Deloitte's immigration team files a Labor Condition Application with DOL before submitting your H-1B petition to USCIS. Confirm with your recruiter whether the firm uses premium processing so you can plan your start date accurately.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Tax Associate roles at Deloitte
Sponsored Tax Associate openings don't always surface clearly on general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Deloitte roles that support visa sponsorship, so you're applying to positions that are actively open and confirmed for international candidates.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Deloitte sponsor H-1B visas for Tax Associates?
Yes, Deloitte sponsors H-1B visas for Tax Associates. The firm has one of the most active visa sponsorship programs in professional services and works with a dedicated immigration team to manage petitions. Keep in mind the H-1B is subject to an annual lottery, so timing your application around Deloitte's campus recruiting cycle improves your chances of getting an offer before the April registration window.
Which visa types does Deloitte sponsor for Tax Associate roles?
Deloitte sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 visa, E-3 visa, and employment-based Green Card categories including EB-2 and EB-3 for Tax Associates. E-3 visa is available only to Australian citizens, and H-1B1 applies to Chilean and Singaporean nationals. For most other international candidates, the H-1B is the primary nonimmigrant path, with Green Card sponsorship typically pursued after several years in the role.
What qualifications does Deloitte expect for sponsored Tax Associate positions?
Deloitte typically looks for a bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field, along with active progress toward CPA licensure. For international candidates, your degree must satisfy specialty occupation criteria under USCIS guidelines, meaning it needs to be directly relevant to tax work. An LLM in Taxation strengthens applications for roles in international tax or transfer pricing practices.
How do I apply for Tax Associate jobs at Deloitte?
The most direct route is through Deloitte's campus recruiting program, which runs in the fall semester and is where the firm fills the majority of its Tax Associate class. You can also apply through Deloitte's careers portal year-round for experienced hire openings. To filter specifically for roles open to visa sponsorship, browse Migrate Mate, which surfaces confirmed sponsoring positions so you're not guessing at eligibility.
How do I time my H-1B petition if I receive a Tax Associate offer from Deloitte?
H-1B registration opens in March each year for an October 1 start date. If you receive an offer through Deloitte's fall campus recruiting cycle, the firm will typically register you in the following March lottery. If selected, your petition is filed by June and adjudicated before October 1. If you're on OPT, your 60-day grace period and any STEM extension should be factored into your offer start date conversation with Deloitte's immigration team.
