Align Your Degree to CPA Licensing Requirements
CohnReznick expects Tax Associates to be on a CPA track. Confirm your accounting degree meets 150 credit-hour requirements in your target state, since gaps here can complicate both the hiring conversation and your H-1B specialty occupation case.
Target Campus Recruiting Cycles Early
CohnReznick recruits Tax Associates heavily through campus programs in the fall. Applying through your university's recruiting portal before general applications open gives you access to roles that rarely surface publicly, especially for sponsorship-eligible candidates.
Clarify OPT Timing Before Your First Interview
If you're on F-1 OPT, know your STEM extension eligibility and exactly when your current authorization expires. CohnReznick's tax busy season runs January through April, so your start date relative to OPT end dates directly affects their filing timeline.
Search Verified Sponsoring Employers on Migrate Mate
Filter Tax Associate openings at accounting firms by visa type on Migrate Mate so you're only applying to employers with a confirmed sponsorship history for this role. It cuts out the guesswork and lets you focus your application effort where it counts.
Negotiate Your Offer With LCA Wage Levels in Mind
DOL requires CohnReznick to pay at least the prevailing wage for your location and role under the Labor Condition Application. If your offer is at the minimum wage level, there's less room to negotiate without triggering a new LCA filing, so understand the tier structure before you respond.

Find Tax Associate at CohnReznick JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does CohnReznick sponsor H-1B visas for Tax Associates?
Yes, CohnReznick sponsors H-1B visas for Tax Associates. Tax roles at accounting firms qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS criteria because they require at least a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field. Sponsorship typically follows an initial period on F-1 OPT, with the H-1B petition filed ahead of the October 1 start date under the annual cap.
How do I apply for Tax Associate jobs at CohnReznick?
You can apply through CohnReznick's careers page or through your university's recruiting portal during fall campus recruiting season, which is the primary hiring channel for Tax Associates. You can also find open Tax Associate roles at CohnReznick filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate, which shows verified openings without requiring you to sort through listings that don't support international candidates.
Which visa types does CohnReznick support for Tax Associate roles?
CohnReznick supports several visa categories for Tax Associates, including H-1B, E-3 for Australian citizens, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and F-1 OPT and CPT for current students. J-1 scholars in qualifying exchange programs may also be eligible. The right category depends on your citizenship, degree status, and where you are in the hiring process.
What qualifications does CohnReznick expect for a Tax Associate role?
CohnReznick generally expects a bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, with enough credits to sit for the CPA exam in your target state. Coursework in federal taxation, corporate tax, or partnership tax is directly relevant. Many candidates enter as recent graduates, so prior internship experience in public accounting, particularly at a regional or national firm, strengthens your application considerably.
How do I time my application around visa sponsorship deadlines?
The H-1B cap registration window opens in early March each year, with October 1 as the earliest start date. If you're graduating in May and starting on OPT, your employer needs to file your H-1B petition within the first year of your OPT authorization. Starting your CohnReznick application during fall recruiting gives you the best chance of locking in an offer with enough lead time to meet that filing window comfortably.
