Frame your credentials for U.S. tax roles
Fitch Tax Associate roles typically require coursework or experience in U.S. federal and state tax compliance. If your degree is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation that maps your accounting or finance coursework to U.S. equivalents before applying.
Target Fitch's compliance and provision openings
Fitch hires Tax Associates specifically for provision, transfer pricing, and tax reporting work tied to its financial services operations. Filter your search to roles mentioning ASC 740 or tax provision, since those positions are where sponsored hires most commonly land.
Search open Tax Associate roles on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to surface Fitch Ratings Tax Associate openings that are tagged by visa type. This saves you from applying to listings where sponsorship isn't on the table and helps you prioritize roles aligned with your specific visa situation.
Time your OPT application around Fitch's hiring cycle
Fitch typically recruits for Tax Associate roles in the fall and spring. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your work authorization end date before accepting an offer so your employer can assess whether a timely H-1B cap filing or OPT extension is feasible.
Understand the Labor Condition Application step
For H-1B or E-3 sponsorship, your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS can process your petition. Ask Fitch's HR team which law firm handles their immigration filings so you know who to coordinate with post-offer.
Prepare for a longer Green Card timeline in asset management
EB-2 and EB-3 PERM sponsorship at financial services firms like Fitch can take several years due to DOL audit rates for professional roles. Clarify at the offer stage whether the company's policy includes initiating PERM within a defined period of your start date.

Does Fitch Ratings sponsor H-1B visas for Tax Associates?
Yes, Fitch Ratings sponsors H-1B visas for Tax Associates. The company has an active track record of filing H-1B petitions for professionals in its tax function, which spans compliance, provision, and transfer pricing work. If you're subject to the H-1B cap, your offer timing relative to the April lottery registration window will determine when you can start. Premium processing is available through USCIS if you need a faster decision.
How do I apply for Tax Associate jobs at Fitch Ratings?
You can find and apply for Tax Associate openings at Fitch Ratings through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm sponsorship availability before applying. Applications typically require a resume, and roles focused on tax provision or transfer pricing may ask for a writing sample or technical screen. Fitch's recruitment process for this role usually includes multiple rounds with the tax team and HR.
Which visa types does Fitch Ratings commonly use for Tax Associate hires?
Fitch Ratings sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT and CPT for Tax Associate roles, with H-1B being the most common pathway for long-term authorization. E-3 applies exclusively to Australian citizens and follows a similar specialty occupation standard. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals under USMCA for qualifying accounting and finance roles. For immigrant pathways, Fitch has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card processes through PERM for eligible employees.
What qualifications does Fitch Ratings expect for a Tax Associate role?
Fitch typically looks for a bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, finance, or taxation, often with a CPA credential or active CPA candidacy. Hands-on experience with ASC 740 tax provision, federal and state compliance filings, or transfer pricing documentation is valued, particularly for roles supporting Fitch's investment and research operations. Big Four or financial services industry experience is a common background among candidates who receive offers.
How does the visa filing timeline work after receiving a Tax Associate offer from Fitch Ratings?
After you receive an offer, Fitch's immigration counsel will file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL, which typically takes one to two weeks to certify. For H-1B, the petition goes to USCIS after LCA certification. If you're cap-subject, you'll need to wait for the April lottery. E-3 and TN petitions can move faster since they aren't subject to the annual cap or lottery process.
