Align your degree to Fitch's criteria
Program Analyst roles at Fitch typically require a finance, economics, or accounting degree. If your degree is in a related field like mathematics or engineering, document how your coursework maps to financial analysis, since H-1B specialty occupation approval depends on that direct connection.
Target Fitch's structured analyst intake cycles
Fitch recruits Program Analysts in cohorts, often aligned to the university recruiting calendar. Applying outside these windows means competing for ad-hoc openings with slower hiring timelines, which can compress the gap between your offer date and any visa filing deadlines.
Clarify your OPT or CPT runway upfront
If you're on F-1 status, confirm your OPT expiration date before your first interview. Fitch's onboarding timelines for analyst cohorts can span several months, and starting on CPT or standard OPT before STEM OPT kicks in requires coordination with your DSO early in the process.
Ask specifically about E-3 eligibility if you're Australian
Fitch sponsors the E-3 visa for Australian citizens, which skips the H-1B lottery entirely. If you hold Australian citizenship, flag this during the offer stage so Fitch's immigration counsel files under E-3, not H-1B, avoiding an unnecessary lottery dependency.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Program Analyst roles
Fitch posts Program Analyst openings across multiple locations and not all are listed on mainstream job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Fitch Ratings roles that include visa sponsorship, so you're only applying to positions where sponsorship is already confirmed.
Understand the H-1B cap timeline before accepting an offer
If you need H-1B sponsorship and aren't cap-exempt, USCIS only accepts registrations in March for an October 1 start. If you receive a Fitch offer in summer, work with their immigration team to determine whether a cap-gap extension or deferred start date is needed.

Find Program Analyst at Fitch Ratings JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Fitch Ratings sponsor H-1B visas for Program Analysts?
Yes, Fitch Ratings sponsors H-1B visas for Program Analysts. The role qualifies as a specialty occupation given its finance and credit analysis requirements, which supports H-1B eligibility. Fitch works with immigration counsel to manage the process, but the H-1B cap and annual lottery still apply unless you're transferring from another H-1B employer or qualify for a cap-exempt filing.
How do I apply for Program Analyst jobs at Fitch Ratings?
Apply through Fitch's careers portal or find open roles filtered by visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate. Fitch hires Program Analysts in structured cohorts aligned to university recruiting cycles, so timing your application to those windows improves your chances. Tailor your application to highlight quantitative coursework and any exposure to credit markets, ratings methodology, or financial modeling.
Which visa types does Fitch Ratings commonly use for Program Analyst roles?
Fitch sponsors several visa categories for Program Analysts, including H-1B, E-3 for Australian citizens, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and F-1 OPT and CPT for current students. For longer-term employment, Fitch also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship, typically after an analyst has established tenure with the firm.
What qualifications does Fitch Ratings expect for Program Analyst candidates?
Fitch typically looks for a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a quantitative field. Strong Excel and financial modeling skills matter more than work experience at the analyst entry level. Familiarity with credit markets, debt instruments, or ratings methodology is a differentiator, and Fitch has historically favored candidates from target universities with structured finance coursework.
How do visa filing timelines work for a Program Analyst offer from Fitch Ratings?
Timeline depends on your visa category. H-1B cap filings require a March registration for an October 1 start, so a spring offer may mean waiting months before you can legally begin. E-3 and TN visas move faster, often within a few weeks of the offer. F-1 OPT lets you start immediately if authorization is active. Confirm your status and expiration date with Fitch's HR team as early as the offer stage.
