Align your credentials with Fitch's analytical framework
Fitch Banking roles center on credit risk, sovereign analysis, and structured finance. CFA progress, financial modeling experience, and exposure to IFRS or Basel frameworks signal readiness for the analytical depth these positions demand.
Target roles by coverage sector not title
Fitch organizes Banking analysts by sector coverage, such as APAC banks or North American financial institutions. Search by coverage group to find openings that match your regional expertise and improve your fit for specialty occupation classification.
Clarify visa type eligibility before your first interview
Fitch sponsors multiple visa categories for Banking roles, including H-1B, E-3, and TN. Knowing which category fits your nationality and degree field before interviews lets you direct the conversation without losing time in later hiring stages.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Banking roles
Not every open position at Fitch is labeled sponsorship-eligible in standard job boards. Browse Banking openings at Fitch Ratings on Migrate Mate to surface roles where international candidates are actively considered and sponsorship is part of the hiring plan.
Anticipate the LCA prevailing wage step for Banking positions
Before Fitch can file your H-1B or E-3 petition, DOL must certify a Labor Condition Application confirming your salary meets prevailing wage for the role's location. Delays here are common, so factor four to six weeks into your expected start date.
Prepare for PERM if your long-term goal is a Green Card
If Fitch moves toward sponsoring your EB-2 or EB-3, the PERM labor certification process requires documenting that no qualified U.S. worker was available. Banking candidates should retain records of their application and interview process throughout recruitment.

Find Banking at Fitch Ratings JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Fitch Ratings sponsor H-1B visas for Bankings?
Yes, Fitch Ratings sponsors H-1B visas for Banking roles. These positions typically qualify as specialty occupations because they require at least a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field. Fitch has an established sponsorship process, and H-1B support is a standard part of how the firm hires international talent into its analytical and research functions.
How do I apply for Banking jobs at Fitch Ratings?
Applications go through Fitch's careers portal, where Banking roles are listed by business group and location. You can also find sponsorship-eligible openings on Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for roles where international candidates are considered. Tailor your application to Fitch's credit methodology and the sector coverage group the role falls under, since generic finance resumes rarely advance.
Which visa types does Fitch Ratings commonly use for Banking roles?
Fitch Ratings sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT and CPT for Banking positions, as well as EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visas for longer-term sponsorship. E-3 applies to Australian citizens, TN to Canadian and Mexican nationals. F-1 OPT is common for recent graduates entering analyst roles before an H-1B petition is filed.
What qualifications does Fitch Ratings expect for Banking positions?
Fitch Banking roles typically require a degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a quantitative field. For analyst-level positions, strong financial modeling skills and familiarity with credit analysis or risk frameworks are expected. Senior roles often require CFA designation or progress toward it, plus sector-specific experience in areas like bank capital adequacy, structured credit, or sovereign debt assessment.
How do I manage the timeline between a Banking job offer and my visa filing?
Once Fitch extends an offer, the H-1B or E-3 petition can take three to six months to process at standard USCIS timelines, though premium processing can reduce that to two to three weeks for H-1B. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your OPT expiration date early so Fitch's immigration team has enough runway to file before your work authorization lapses.
