Align your credentials to CFA or CIMA standards
Fitch values internationally recognized finance credentials for Business Partner roles. If your qualifications are non-U.S., get them formally evaluated by a NACES-approved service before applying so your equivalency is clear upfront.
Target Fitch's ratings and research divisions first
Finance Business Partner openings tied to Fitch's credit ratings and financial research divisions tend to require niche FP&A and management reporting skills. Filter open roles by business unit to match your sector experience before reaching out.
Search Finance Business Partner roles on Migrate Mate
Fitch Ratings appears on Migrate Mate's visa sponsorship job board, where you can filter specifically for Finance Business Partner openings by visa type. Use it to identify active listings before applying directly through Fitch's careers page.
Prepare for H-1B specialty occupation documentation early
For H-1B sponsorship, USCIS requires your role to qualify as a specialty occupation. Finance Business Partner positions typically qualify, but you'll need documentation tying your specific bachelor's degree field directly to the FP&A and analytical functions in your job description.
Use F-1 OPT or CPT strategically to build relevant experience
If you're on F-1 status, finance internships or analyst roles at credit rating or asset management firms strengthen your profile for a permanent Business Partner position at Fitch. OPT extensions under STEM-eligible programs can extend your runway significantly.

Find Finance Business Partner at Fitch Ratings JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Fitch Ratings sponsor H-1B visas for Finance Business Partners?
Yes, Fitch Ratings sponsors H-1B visas for Finance Business Partner roles. The position typically qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards given its FP&A, management reporting, and strategic finance requirements. Because H-1B is subject to the annual lottery, Fitch would need to file a registration in March for an October start, so timing your job search accordingly matters.
How do I apply for Finance Business Partner jobs at Fitch Ratings?
Apply directly through Fitch Ratings' careers portal, where Finance Business Partner roles are listed by region and business unit. Tailor your application to highlight FP&A experience, business partnering in financial services, and any exposure to credit or risk functions. You can also browse active Fitch openings filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate before applying.
Which visa types does Fitch Ratings commonly use for Finance Business Partner roles?
Fitch sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card pathways for finance roles. Australian nationals are well-positioned to pursue the E-3, which has no lottery and a faster timeline than H-1B. Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying finance occupations may be eligible for TN status, which can be issued at the border.
What qualifications does Fitch Ratings expect for Finance Business Partner roles?
Fitch typically looks for a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or economics, along with strong FP&A or management accounting experience. Exposure to financial services, investment management, or credit analysis is a meaningful differentiator. Credentials such as CFA, CPA, or CIMA are well-regarded, especially for roles partnering directly with ratings or research business units.
How does the visa sponsorship timeline work when joining Fitch Ratings?
The timeline depends on your visa category. E-3 and TN cases can often be processed within a few weeks, while H-1B sponsorship is constrained by the annual lottery with an October 1 start date. If you're transferring an existing H-1B from another employer, Fitch can file a cap-exempt transfer and you can start once USCIS issues a receipt notice, which typically takes two to four weeks.
