Certify Your Forklift and Equipment Credentials Early
Equipment Depot services forklifts, aerial work platforms, and related industrial equipment. Holding OEM certifications from manufacturers like Toyota, Crown, or Hyster before you apply signals job-readiness and reduces the employer's onboarding cost, which strengthens the case for sponsorship.
Target Branch Locations With Active Open Roles
Equipment Depot operates service branches across multiple regions. Applying to locations with multiple open Equipment Service Technician postings signals active hiring demand, which correlates with a higher likelihood that HR has already worked through the sponsorship process for this specific role.
Understand That EB-3 Fits This Role Better
Equipment Service Technician positions typically qualify under EB-3 skilled worker, not EB-2, because the role requires technical training rather than an advanced degree. Confirming this classification early helps you set accurate PERM and priority date timelines with your employer.
Ask About PERM Timing Before Accepting an Offer
PERM labor certification through DOL is the first step in Equipment Depot's Green Card process for this role. The DOL recruitment and review process alone can take six to twelve months, so clarifying when the employer intends to file protects you from unexpected gaps in your status.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Equipment Depot Openings by Location
Sponsorship eligibility often depends on which branch is hiring and whether that location has sponsored this role before. Use Migrate Mate to filter Equipment Service Technician jobs at Equipment Depot by location so you're applying where sponsorship is most likely to be on the table.
Document Hands-On Diagnostic and Repair Experience Precisely
PERM requires Equipment Depot to define the minimum requirements for your role. If your experience includes hydraulic systems, electrical diagnostics, or fleet preventive maintenance, document it with specific equipment models and hours. Vague experience descriptions can complicate the USCIS petition stage.

Does Equipment Depot sponsor H-1B visas for Equipment Service Technicians?
Equipment Service Technician roles at Equipment Depot are hands-on technical positions that generally do not qualify as H-1B specialty occupations, since H-1B requires a role tied to a specific bachelor's degree. Equipment Depot's sponsorship activity for this role has focused on permanent residency pathways instead. If you're pursuing work authorization, EB-3 is the more relevant route to discuss with the hiring team.
Which visa types are commonly used for Equipment Service Technician roles at Equipment Depot?
Equipment Depot has sponsored permanent residency for Equipment Service Technicians through the EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories. EB-3 skilled worker is the most common fit for this role, covering positions that require at least two years of training or experience. The process involves PERM labor certification through DOL, followed by an I-140 petition with USCIS before the final Green Card application.
What qualifications and experience does Equipment Depot expect for Equipment Service Technician roles?
Equipment Depot typically looks for hands-on experience servicing forklifts, aerial work platforms, or similar industrial equipment. Familiarity with hydraulic systems, electrical diagnostics, and preventive maintenance programs is commonly expected. OEM manufacturer certifications from brands like Toyota Material Handling, Crown, or Hyster-Yale strengthen your application. A technical diploma or associate degree in diesel mechanics or industrial technology is often preferred but not always required.
How do I apply for Equipment Service Technician jobs at Equipment Depot?
You can browse and apply for Equipment Service Technician positions at Equipment Depot through Migrate Mate, which filters job listings by visa sponsorship eligibility so you can identify which branch locations are actively hiring for this role. When applying, tailor your resume to highlight specific equipment models you've serviced and any relevant certifications. If sponsorship is a requirement, raise it early in the recruiter conversation to confirm the branch's current capacity to sponsor.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for an Equipment Service Technician at Equipment Depot?
For EB-3 Green Card sponsorship, the process starts with PERM labor certification, which DOL typically takes six to twelve months to adjudicate after the required recruitment period. After PERM approval, Equipment Depot files an I-140 petition with USCIS, which takes several months to process. If your priority date is current for your country of birth, you can proceed to adjustment of status or consular processing, though wait times vary significantly by nationality.
