Certify Your Equipment Credentials Before Applying
Equipment Depot prioritizes technicians with documented service credentials for forklift and material handling systems. Obtaining manufacturer certifications from brands like Toyota or Crown before you apply strengthens your profile for both the role and a future PERM-based sponsorship case.
Target Branch Locations With Open Requisitions
Equipment Depot operates service branches across dozens of states, and hiring activity concentrates at specific locations rather than spreading evenly. Focus your applications on branches with active Field Technician postings, since sponsorship decisions are made at the operational level where staffing gaps exist.
Clarify Sponsorship Timing During the Offer Stage
Equipment Depot's sponsorship pathway is typically EB-2 or EB-3, which requires PERM labor certification before USCIS filing. Ask your recruiter during the offer negotiation whether the company initiates sponsorship after a defined employment period, so you can plan around your current visa status and any grace period deadlines.
Document Field Experience in Sponsor-Ready Language
PERM requires the employer to define the job's minimum requirements precisely. If your resume describes experience in vague terms, it can complicate the labor certification process. Frame your background around specific equipment types, diagnostic systems, and service environments that match the posted job description.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Active Openings by Role
Field Technician roles at Equipment Depot open and close frequently across different service regions. Use Migrate Mate to browse current openings filtered specifically for this role and employer, so you're applying to positions that are actively staffed rather than outdated listings.
Confirm I-9 and E-Verify Procedures With HR Early
Equipment Depot operates in the distribution sector, where E-Verify enrollment is common. Before your start date, confirm with HR how your current work authorization will be verified and whether your visa documentation satisfies their I-9 requirements, especially if you're on OPT or a bridging status.

Does Equipment Depot sponsor H-1B visas for Field Technicians?
Equipment Depot's documented sponsorship activity for Field Technicians is concentrated in the EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card categories, not H-1B. Field Technician roles are classified as skilled trades rather than specialty occupations, which is the standard H-1B threshold. If you're targeting a permanent residency pathway, the EB-3 route through PERM labor certification is the more realistic track to pursue with this employer.
Which visa types are commonly used for Field Technician roles at Equipment Depot?
EB-3 is the most applicable visa category for Field Technician positions at Equipment Depot, covering skilled workers in roles that require less than a bachelor's degree but involve specialized training. EB-2 may apply in cases where the technician holds an advanced degree or the employer can demonstrate exceptional need. Both categories require USCIS approval following a PERM labor certification filed with the DOL.
What qualifications or experience does Equipment Depot expect for Field Technician roles?
Equipment Depot typically looks for technicians with hands-on experience servicing forklifts, reach trucks, or other material handling equipment used in distribution and warehouse environments. Manufacturer certifications, hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting skills, and a valid driver's license are common requirements. Candidates with documented experience on major brands and a history of working in high-volume warehouse settings are competitively positioned.
How do I apply for Field Technician jobs at Equipment Depot?
You can browse and apply for Field Technician openings at Equipment Depot directly through Migrate Mate, which aggregates current postings filtered by role and sponsorship history. Applications typically go through Equipment Depot's internal HR system, and the process includes a technical screening and service skills assessment. Applying to branches with active service backlogs tends to produce faster responses than applying to fully staffed locations.
How long does the sponsorship process take for a Field Technician at Equipment Depot?
For EB-3 sponsorship, the process begins with PERM labor certification at the DOL, which currently takes six months to over a year depending on audit activity. After PERM approval, the employer files an I-140 petition with USCIS. If your priority date is current, you can proceed to adjustment of status or consular processing. For applicants born in countries with high visa demand, priority date backlogs can extend the total timeline significantly beyond the initial filing stages.
