Certify Your Technical Credentials Before Applying
Equipment Depot looks for technicians with OEM or industry certifications like MEWP or forklift-specific training. Getting these documented and verified before you apply positions you as a work-ready candidate whose visa sponsorship case is easier to justify.
Target Branch Locations With Open Headcount
Equipment Depot operates service branches nationally, and sponsorship decisions often happen at the hiring manager level. Focus your applications on locations with multiple open Field Service Technician postings, which signals sustained workforce demand rather than a one-off backfill hire.
Ask About EB-3 Eligibility During Interviews
Field Service Technician roles typically qualify under EB-3 for skilled workers. During later-stage interviews, ask directly whether the company has worked with immigration counsel on this classification before, so you know what process you're walking into.
Align Your Resume With DOL Prevailing Wage Categories
PERM filings require Equipment Depot to pay the DOL prevailing wage for your role and location. Framing your resume around the specific technical duties and experience level for Field Service Technicians in their service territory strengthens the wage classification case.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Active Openings
Field Service Technician roles at Equipment Depot across different branches aren't always easy to track manually. Use Migrate Mate to filter for open positions at Equipment Depot filtered by visa sponsorship, so you're applying where hiring is actually happening.

Find Field Service Technician at Equipment Depot JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Equipment Depot sponsor H-1B visas for Field Service Technicians?
H-1B sponsorship for Field Service Technicians is uncommon because the classification requires a role that normally demands a bachelor's degree in a specific specialty field. Equipment Depot's sponsorship activity for this role has been through permanent residence pathways rather than H-1B. If you're targeting this role, EB-3 skilled worker is the more relevant category to ask about.
Which visa types are commonly used for Field Service Technician roles at Equipment Depot?
Equipment Depot has sponsored Field Service Technicians through the EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories, which support permanent residence rather than temporary work authorization. EB-3 for skilled workers is the most applicable category for this role type, covering positions that require at least two years of training or experience. This route involves PERM labor certification through the DOL before USCIS processing begins.
How do I apply for Field Service Technician jobs at Equipment Depot?
You can find and apply for Field Service Technician openings at Equipment Depot through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by employer and visa sponsorship history so you can identify active roles where sponsorship is a realistic outcome. Equipment Depot posts openings across multiple regional branches, so searching by location helps you find positions closest to where you're authorized to or planning to work.
What qualifications does Equipment Depot expect for Field Service Technician candidates?
Equipment Depot typically looks for hands-on experience servicing or repairing material handling equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, or reach trucks. OEM or manufacturer certifications are a strong differentiator. Candidates who can demonstrate diagnostic troubleshooting skills, familiarity with electrical and hydraulic systems, and a clean driving record are well-positioned. Prior experience in a field service or mobile technician role in the distribution or industrial equipment sector is the baseline expectation.
How long does the sponsorship process take for a Field Service Technician at Equipment Depot?
For EB-3 sponsorship, the process starts with PERM labor certification through the DOL, which currently takes roughly one to two years depending on audit activity. USCIS then processes the I-140 immigrant petition, and visa availability depends on your country of birth and the priority date backlog. For candidates born outside of high-demand countries, the full timeline from PERM filing to Green Card can run two to four years in a straightforward case.
