- Work closely with customer development, manufacturing, process, and reliability teams to resolve technical issues associated with optical connectivity design-in, installation, and qualification.
- Work with customer engineers to define and validate optical infrastructure including trunks, patch cords, cassettes, connectors, and panels from switch and compute platforms to the broader fiber plant, including polarity, labeling, manageability, and capacity planning.
- Function as a technical advisor, offering insights and recommendations to optimize customer deployments and future architecture choices.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex technical issues related to product integration, system fit, optical loss budgets, mechanical interfaces, serviceability, and deployment constraints.
- Work with internal engineering, product management, advanced development, and sales teams to escalate and resolve critical customer issues.
- Identify market and technology trends in hyperscale datacenter optical infrastructure and communicate internally to help shape roadmap priorities and differentiated solutions.
- Develop supporting documents, application notes, and customer-facing technical guidance.

Align your credentials to Molex's technical standards
Molex's Field Technician roles typically require hands-on experience with electronic components, connectors, or industrial installation. Before applying, gather documentation of certifications like IPC, OSHA, or relevant vocational credentials that directly support a specialty occupation classification.
Target Molex openings before the H-1B registration window
USCIS opens H-1B registration in March each year. Securing an offer from Molex by February gives your employer enough lead time to prepare and submit your registration without rushing the Labor Condition Application process with the DOL.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active Field Technician openings
Molex posts Field Technician roles across multiple locations, and openings can move quickly. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for visa-sponsoring Field Technician positions at Molex so you're applying to roles where sponsorship is already on the table.
Clarify sponsorship scope during the offer stage
During offer negotiations, ask directly whether sponsorship covers the full EB-2 or EB-3 PERM process, not just an initial H-1B. For Field Technician roles, EB-3 is the more common Green Card pathway given the role's classification, so confirm that upfront rather than after you've started.
Verify your I-9 and E-Verify eligibility documentation early
Molex participates in E-Verify, so any discrepancy between your work authorization documents and federal records will surface immediately at onboarding. Confirm your visa status documents are current and consistent with your I-94 record before your start date.

Does Molex sponsor H-1B visas for Field Technicians?
Yes, Molex sponsors H-1B visas for Field Technician roles. The key requirement is that the position qualifies as a specialty occupation, meaning it typically requires at least a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant technical field. If your role involves advanced electronic systems, connector engineering, or technical deployment work, it's likely to meet that threshold. Your employer will file the Labor Condition Application with the DOL before submitting the H-1B petition to USCIS.
How do I apply for Field Technician jobs at Molex?
You can browse and apply for Field Technician positions at Molex directly through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship eligibility. Molex posts openings across multiple U.S. locations, and positions can close quickly. Having your resume, relevant certifications, and work authorization documentation ready before you apply will speed up the process once a recruiter reaches out.
Which visa types does Molex commonly use for Field Technician roles?
Molex sponsors across several visa categories for Field Technician positions, including H-1B, TN (for Canadian and Mexican nationals under USMCA), F-1 OPT and CPT for students in active programs, J-1 for exchange visitors, and EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card pathways for permanent residence. TN is often the fastest route for eligible candidates since it doesn't require USCIS lottery registration and can be processed at the border.
What qualifications does Molex expect for Field Technician positions?
Molex's Field Technician roles generally require a technical degree or equivalent experience in electronics, electrical engineering, or a related discipline, along with hands-on familiarity with connector systems, cabling, or industrial hardware. Industry certifications such as IPC or OSHA add weight to your application. Prior experience in a manufacturing, fashion-tech, or wearable electronics environment is particularly relevant given Molex's work in the Fashion and Apparel sector.
How do I understand the visa sponsorship timeline for a Field Technician role at Molex?
Timeline depends on the visa type. H-1B sponsorship is tied to the annual USCIS registration window in March, with employment starting October 1 if selected. TN visas can often be issued within days at a port of entry. F-1 OPT authorization takes up to 90 days from the date USCIS receives your application, so apply as early as possible. For EB-3 Green Card sponsorship, the PERM labor certification process with the DOL typically adds 12 to 18 months before USCIS petition filing.
