Certify Manufacturer Credentials Before Applying
Equipment Depot technicians work across major OEM lines. Having documented certifications from manufacturers like Hyster-Yale, Crown, or Toyota Material Handling strengthens your candidacy and gives the employer clearer grounds to justify a sponsored hire over a local candidate.
Target Branches Near Distribution Hubs
Equipment Depot operates service branches near major logistics corridors. Locations with high equipment fleet density tend to have more persistent technician openings, which translates to stronger internal pressure to fill roles and a higher likelihood of sponsorship approval moving forward.
Distinguish EB-2 and EB-3 Eligibility Early
Skilled trades like equipment repair typically fit EB-3. If you hold an advanced technical degree or can document exceptional field expertise, discuss EB-2 viability with the hiring manager before your offer is structured, since the PERM process differs meaningfully between categories.
Clarify PERM Timeline With Your Hiring Manager
Permanent residence sponsorship through PERM requires DOL-supervised recruitment before filing. Ask directly whether Equipment Depot initiates PERM at offer or after a qualifying tenure period. Knowing this upfront prevents misaligned expectations during your first year on the job.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Open Technician Roles
Search for Equipment Technician positions at Equipment Depot specifically filtered by visa sponsorship using Migrate Mate. It surfaces roles where sponsorship has been part of the hiring pattern, saving you time spent applying to positions that won't move your immigration situation forward.
Document Field Experience in USCIS-Recognized Terms
When preparing your resume and any petition support letters, describe your hands-on experience using language that maps to DOL occupational classifications for industrial machinery mechanics. Vague descriptions of repair work can create unnecessary USCIS scrutiny during the green card petition review.

Does Equipment Depot sponsor H-1B visas for Equipment Technicians?
Equipment Technician roles at Equipment Depot are hands-on trades positions, which typically do not meet the USCIS specialty occupation standard required for H-1B eligibility. The H-1B is designed for roles requiring a specific bachelor's degree in a directly related field. Equipment Depot's sponsorship activity for this function is oriented toward permanent residence pathways rather than H-1B classification.
Which visa types are commonly used for Equipment Technician roles at Equipment Depot?
Equipment Depot has sponsored permanent residence for this role category through the EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa classifications. EB-3 is the more common fit for skilled trades technicians with relevant vocational training and documented work experience. EB-2 may apply in cases involving advanced degrees or demonstrated exceptional expertise in industrial equipment systems.
What qualifications and experience does Equipment Depot expect from Equipment Technician candidates?
Equipment Depot typically looks for hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing forklifts, aerial work platforms, or other material handling equipment. OEM-specific certifications are valued. Candidates who can demonstrate proficiency with electrical systems, hydraulics, and engine diagnostics are most competitive. Prior experience in a dealership or fleet maintenance environment in the distribution and wholesale sector strengthens your application meaningfully.
How do I apply for Equipment Technician jobs at Equipment Depot?
You can find Equipment Technician openings at Equipment Depot filtered by visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles aligned with your immigration needs. Apply directly through Equipment Depot's careers portal after identifying relevant branch locations. Tailoring your application to highlight specific equipment lines you're certified on improves your chances of moving to an interview stage quickly.
How do I understand the timeline for green card sponsorship as an Equipment Technician at Equipment Depot?
Permanent residence through EB-3 involves a PERM labor certification filed with the DOL, followed by an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS, and then an adjustment of status or consular processing step. The full process from PERM filing to Green Card approval can take anywhere from two to several years depending on your country of birth and visa bulletin priority dates. Confirm with your employer when in your tenure they initiate PERM.
