Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Maintenance Technician Jobs at Equipment Depot Jobs
Certify Your Forklift and MHE Credentials First
Equipment Depot services and rents material handling equipment, so OSHA-recognized forklift certifications and documented experience with brands like Toyota, Crown, or Raymond strengthen your application before any sponsorship conversation begins.
Target Locations With Active Service Demand
Equipment Depot operates service branches across multiple regions. Applying to branches in areas with fewer qualified local technicians improves your chances, since labor shortage documentation is a prerequisite for PERM-based sponsorship filings.
Understand Which Green Card Path Applies to You
Maintenance Technician roles typically fall under EB-3 skilled worker category, though candidates with advanced technical degrees may qualify for EB-2. The right category affects your PERM timeline and priority date, so clarify this with HR before accepting an offer.
Ask Specifically About the PERM Labor Certification Process
EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship requires DOL-approved PERM labor certification before USCIS ever sees your case. Ask the hiring manager upfront whether Equipment Depot has initiated this for similar roles recently, since the recruitment documentation phase alone can take several months.
Prepare a Detailed Employment History for Your Petition
USCIS scrutinizes whether your prior work experience matches the specific duties in the offered role. Document every maintenance job with employer contact details, exact dates, equipment types serviced, and supervisor names to avoid Requests for Evidence during your I-140 adjudication.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Open Technician Roles Quickly
Maintenance Technician openings at Equipment Depot appear across multiple branch locations and rotate frequently. Use Migrate Mate to filter and track Equipment Depot listings that are open to visa sponsorship, so you're applying to the right roles without manually combing job boards.

Does Equipment Depot sponsor H-1B visas for Maintenance Technicians?
Maintenance Technician roles at Equipment Depot are hands-on trade positions and generally do not qualify for H-1B sponsorship, which requires a specialty occupation tied to a specific bachelor's degree field. Equipment Depot's sponsorship activity for this role has been through employment-based Green Card pathways, specifically EB-2 and EB-3, rather than H-1B.
Which visa types are commonly used for Maintenance Technician roles at Equipment Depot?
Equipment Depot has pursued EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based Green Card sponsorship for Maintenance Technician positions. EB-3 skilled worker is the most typical fit, covering roles that require at least two years of training or experience. EB-2 may apply if the candidate holds an advanced degree relevant to the technical work involved.
What qualifications and experience does Equipment Depot expect for a sponsored Maintenance Technician?
Equipment Depot typically looks for hands-on experience with material handling equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, and order pickers. Relevant certifications, familiarity with electrical and hydraulic systems, and prior work in distribution or industrial environments are valued. Because sponsorship involves PERM, your documented experience must align closely with the specific duties listed in the job description.
How long does the sponsorship and visa process take for this role?
For EB-3 sponsorship, the process starts with PERM labor certification filed with the DOL, which can take six to twelve months. USCIS then adjudicates the I-140 immigrant petition, and depending on your country of birth and priority date, there may be additional waiting time before you can file for adjustment of status or an immigrant visa. Plan for a multi-year timeline.
How do I apply for Maintenance Technician jobs at Equipment Depot?
You can apply directly through Equipment Depot's careers page, but filtering for roles open to visa sponsorship across multiple branch locations is time-consuming. Migrate Mate aggregates Equipment Depot's Maintenance Technician openings and surfaces the ones with sponsorship potential, making it easier to identify and apply to the right positions without sorting through unsponsored listings manually.
