Frame your credentials around construction finance
Gaylor Electric operates across large commercial and industrial projects, so position your degree and experience around cost control, subcontractor billing, or project accounting. A business degree paired with construction-specific coursework or certifications strengthens your specialty occupation case for H-1B.
Target regional offices with active project pipelines
Gaylor runs operations across multiple states, and hiring for Business Manager roles often tracks project volume by region. Research which markets have active bids or recently awarded contracts before applying, since those offices are most likely to have open headcount.
Ask about CPT and OPT timing during early interviews
If you're on F-1 status, clarify upfront whether the role qualifies under your degree field for OPT or CPT authorization. Business Manager positions in construction can qualify under business administration or finance, but confirm alignment with your program advisor before accepting an offer.
Confirm LCA prevailing wage before the offer stage
Before your employer files an H-1B petition, USCIS requires a certified Labor Condition Application from DOL establishing the prevailing wage for Business Managers in the specific metro area. Ask your hiring contact which wage level they intend to file at so there are no surprises late in the process.
Use Migrate Mate to identify open Business Manager roles
Gaylor Electric posts Business Manager openings across multiple locations at different times of year. Use Migrate Mate to filter and monitor these roles by visa type so you can apply during active hiring windows rather than chasing listings after positions are already filled.
Prepare a TN eligibility argument if you qualify
Canadian and Mexican nationals with degrees in business administration or accountancy may qualify for TN status in the Accountant category for a Business Manager role at Gaylor. Review the DOL's TN occupation list and document how your duties map to that classification before your employer initiates the process.

Does Gaylor Electric sponsor H-1B visas for Business Managers?
Yes, Gaylor Electric has sponsored H-1B visas for Business Manager roles. Because H-1B requires demonstrating a specialty occupation, your application should clearly show that the position requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in a specific field like business administration, finance, or accounting. Gaylor's construction environment means the role typically involves project cost management, financial reporting, and budget oversight, all of which support that argument.
Which visa types are commonly used for Business Manager roles at Gaylor Electric?
H-1B is the most common pathway for Business Manager roles at Gaylor Electric. F-1 OPT and CPT are also supported, making Gaylor accessible to recent graduates early in their U.S. career. Canadian and Mexican nationals with qualifying business degrees should also evaluate TN status under the Accountant classification, which can be processed at the border without a waiting period.
What qualifications does Gaylor Electric expect for Business Manager positions?
Gaylor Electric typically expects a bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field for Business Manager roles. Experience supporting project financials in construction or a similarly contract-intensive industry is a strong differentiator. Familiarity with cost tracking, subcontractor billing cycles, and reporting for large capital projects aligns closely with how Gaylor structures this function internally.
How do I apply for Business Manager jobs at Gaylor Electric?
You can find and apply for Business Manager openings at Gaylor Electric through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm eligibility before applying. Gaylor posts positions across multiple regional offices, so checking regularly increases your chances of catching an opening aligned with your location preference and visa timeline. Tailor your resume to highlight construction finance experience and degree-to-role fit.
How do I manage the H-1B timeline if I'm already on OPT?
If you're on F-1 OPT, the H-1B cap-subject filing window opens April 1 each year for an October 1 start date. USCIS requires your employer to submit a registration in March. If your OPT expires before October 1, a timely filed H-1B petition with a receipt notice keeps you in valid status through the gap under cap-gap protection. Coordinate your start date and OPT expiration with your employer's HR team well before the March registration window opens.
