Frame credentials around electrical construction programs
Gaylor Electric prioritizes candidates who can demonstrate program-level oversight on electrical or mechanical construction projects. Translate your experience into scope, budget, and schedule outcomes tied to field delivery, not just office-based project coordination.
Target roles in Gaylor's preconstruction pipeline
Gaylor staffs Project Program Managers across multiple active construction markets. Look for postings that reference design-build or design-assist delivery, since those roles carry the broadest program oversight scope and tend to involve earlier-stage hire decisions.
Get your LCA timing right before signing
For H-1B transfers or new petitions, your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS can process the I-129. Don't give notice to your current employer until the LCA is certified and the petition is filed.
Align your OPT or CPT field to construction management
Gaylor sponsors F-1 OPT and CPT candidates, but your authorized field of study must align with the role. Construction management, civil engineering, or a related technical discipline strengthens the connection between your degree and a Program Manager classification.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active sponsorship openings
Gaylor's Project Program Manager postings don't always flag visa sponsorship in the listing itself. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for verified sponsoring employers in the construction sector so you're not guessing which openings are actually accessible.
Confirm TN eligibility before your offer stage
Canadian and Mexican nationals can pursue TN status for qualifying engineering and management roles, but the position must map to an approved TN professional category. Verify with USCIS guidance that a Project Program Manager role at a trade contractor qualifies before negotiating your start date.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Gaylor Electric sponsor H-1B visas for Project Program Managers?
Yes, Gaylor Electric has sponsored H-1B visas for Project Program Manager roles. Because construction program management requires specialized technical and organizational expertise, these positions generally satisfy the specialty occupation standard USCIS uses to evaluate H-1B petitions. Your degree should be in construction management, engineering, or a closely related discipline to support the petition.
Which visa types are commonly used for Project Program Manager roles at Gaylor Electric?
Gaylor Electric sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas for this role. H-1B is most common for mid-career hires. OPT and CPT work well for recent graduates entering the construction management pipeline. TN is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals whose role maps to an eligible professional category under the USMCA.
How do I apply for Project Program Manager jobs at Gaylor Electric?
Browse current openings on Gaylor Electric's careers page or through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for employers with a verified sponsorship history in construction. When applying, highlight program-level experience on electrical or mechanical projects, including delivery method, contract value, and team size. Tailor your resume to Gaylor's design-build and design-assist project types where possible.
What qualifications does Gaylor Electric expect for a Project Program Manager?
Gaylor typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in construction management, electrical engineering, or a related technical field, combined with hands-on experience managing multiphase electrical construction programs. Familiarity with preconstruction planning, subcontractor coordination, and project controls is expected. PMP certification or equivalent program management credentials strengthen your profile, particularly if your degree field is adjacent rather than directly aligned.
How do I time my visa filing if I receive an offer from Gaylor Electric?
For H-1B transfers, Gaylor must file an I-129 petition with USCIS before your current status expires. For new cap-subject H-1B cases, the annual lottery runs in March for an October 1 start, so plan your job search around that window. F-1 OPT candidates should confirm that their OPT authorization period covers the anticipated start date and request a timely extension if STEM OPT applies.
