Align Your Credentials With NEC Standards
Gaylor operates on commercial and industrial job sites where National Electrical Code fluency is non-negotiable. Before applying, review your resume to confirm your project experience explicitly references NEC compliance, load calculations, or design-build coordination rather than generic engineering language.
Target Roles Requiring Active PE Licensure
Gaylor posts Electrical Engineer openings that distinguish between EIT and licensed PE candidates. If you hold a Professional Engineer license, flag it prominently. Employers in construction are more likely to prioritize sponsorship for candidates who remove a key hiring obstacle by arriving already licensed.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Open Roles by Visa Type
Gaylor's open Electrical Engineer positions span multiple locations and seniority levels. Use Migrate Mate to filter these listings by the visa types Gaylor sponsors, so you're applying to roles where sponsorship is already confirmed rather than guessing from a generic careers page.
Time Your OPT Application Around Project Cycles
Construction firms like Gaylor ramp hiring around project awards and fiscal quarters, not fixed academic calendars. File your OPT application with USCIS at least 90 days before your program end date so your work authorization is active and ready when a project-driven opening appears.
Clarify the LCA Process With Your Recruiter Early
Before Gaylor can file your H-1B petition, their legal team must obtain a certified Labor Condition Application from the DOL confirming your wage meets the prevailing rate for your work location. Asking about this step in your offer conversation signals you understand the process and reduces back-and-forth later.
Prepare a Portfolio Showing Site-Specific Electrical Work
Generic resumes stall in construction hiring. Compile project documentation showing electrical system design, coordination drawings, or commissioning reports tied to specific building types such as healthcare facilities, data centers, or warehouses, which reflect the commercial sectors Gaylor commonly serves.

Find Electrical Engineer at Gaylor Electric JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Gaylor Electric sponsor H-1B visas for Electrical Engineers?
Yes, Gaylor Electric has sponsored H-1B visas for Electrical Engineers. The H-1B requires your role to qualify as a specialty occupation, which Electrical Engineer positions in construction typically satisfy given the degree requirements involved. Your employer initiates the petition with USCIS, so confirming sponsorship willingness early in the offer process is essential.
How do I apply for Electrical Engineer jobs at Gaylor Electric?
You can apply directly through Gaylor Electric's careers page or find their open Electrical Engineer positions filtered by visa sponsorship type on Migrate Mate. When applying, tailor your resume to reflect commercial or industrial electrical experience, relevant certifications, and any active licensure. Reaching out to Gaylor's recruiting team after submitting can also help your application get noticed.
Which visa types does Gaylor Electric commonly use for Electrical Engineer roles?
Gaylor Electric sponsors H-1B visas and supports F-1 OPT and F-1 CPT for Electrical Engineer roles, making them accessible to recent graduates completing STEM programs. TN visa sponsorship is also available for Canadian and Mexican nationals whose engineering credentials align with TN eligibility requirements under the USMCA professional categories.
What qualifications does Gaylor Electric expect from Electrical Engineer candidates?
Gaylor typically looks for a bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, familiarity with NEC codes, and experience in commercial or industrial project environments. Candidates with design-build exposure, experience coordinating with project managers and subcontractors, or a PE license tend to be more competitive. Proficiency with AutoCAD or Revit is frequently listed as a requirement.
How do I plan my timeline if I need H-1B sponsorship to work at Gaylor Electric?
The H-1B cap lottery opens each March for an October 1 start date, so your offer and USCIS registration need to be in place before the March filing window. If you're on OPT when you receive an offer, your OPT can bridge you through until H-1B status begins. USCIS also offers premium processing, which can reduce petition adjudication time to around 15 business days.
