Align your credentials to tech compliance frameworks
Google evaluates Compliance Managers against frameworks like SOX, GDPR, and CCPA. Certifications such as CRCM, CISA, or CCEP signal fluency in the regulatory environments tech companies actually operate in, strengthening your visa petition's specialty occupation case.
Target roles in Google's regulated product divisions
Compliance hiring at Google concentrates around payments, advertising, and cloud divisions, where regulatory exposure is highest. Applications tied to these product areas tend to progress faster because headcount approval for compliance functions is already built into those teams' budgets.
Clarify visa type eligibility before your offer stage
Google sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for this role. Australian and Singaporean nationals should confirm E-3 or H-1B1 eligibility early, since these bypass the H-1B lottery and allow Google's immigration team to move on a faster, more predictable filing timeline.
Prepare for a specialty occupation documentation request
USCIS scrutinizes compliance roles closely because job duties can appear generalist. Work with Google's immigration counsel to document that your specific role requires a directly related bachelor's degree or higher, not just general business knowledge, to satisfy the specialty occupation standard.
Time your application around Google's H-1B registration window
If you need H-1B sponsorship, Google submits registrations in March for an October 1 start. Securing an offer by February gives the immigration team enough runway to register on your behalf before USCIS closes the window.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Compliance Manager roles at Google
Google posts compliance roles across multiple locations and product teams, and openings move quickly. Use Migrate Mate to filter for Compliance Manager positions at Google that explicitly include visa sponsorship, so you're only applying where sponsorship is confirmed.

Find Compliance Manager at Google JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Google sponsor H-1B visas for Compliance Managers?
Yes, Google sponsors H-1B visas for Compliance Manager roles. The role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation because it requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as law, finance, or a related discipline. Google's in-house immigration team manages the process, and for H-1B, your start date is tied to the October 1 cap year unless you qualify for a cap-exempt filing.
Which visa types does Google commonly use for Compliance Manager roles?
Google sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for Compliance Manager positions. H-1B is the most common pathway for most international candidates. Australian citizens can use the E-3, and Singaporean and Chilean nationals may qualify for the H-1B1, both of which bypass the H-1B lottery and carry shorter processing timelines under standard USCIS review.
How do I apply for Compliance Manager jobs at Google?
Applications go through Google's careers portal at careers.google.com. Search for Compliance Manager with your target location and filter for roles that include visa sponsorship in the job description. You can also browse open positions on Migrate Mate, which surfaces Google compliance roles verified for sponsorship eligibility, so you can focus your applications on postings where sponsorship is already confirmed.
What qualifications does Google expect for Compliance Manager roles?
Google generally looks for a bachelor's degree in law, finance, accounting, or a related field, combined with several years of compliance experience in a technology or regulated industry. Familiarity with frameworks such as SOX, GDPR, or CCPA is commonly expected. For visa sponsorship purposes, the degree must be in a field directly related to the compliance function of the specific role you're applying for.
How do I estimate the timeline from offer to visa approval for a Compliance Manager role at Google?
For H-1B, count on four to six months from offer to work authorization if your start date aligns with October 1. E-3 and H-1B1 petitions can move faster, often two to three months from offer to approval, since they don't require lottery selection. Google's immigration team typically initiates the Labor Condition Application with DOL as soon as your offer is accepted, which is the first required step before any petition is filed with USCIS.
