Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your technical and leadership expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.
You'll play a key role in delivering quality, cost, and delivery (QCD) commitments for the Network & Telecom (N&T) sub-system design. You’ll specifically take care of designing N&T sub-systems in compliance with engineering rules and best practices, but also support project engineering management and risk assessment processes.
We’ll look to you for:
- Reaching Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) commitments for N&T sub-system design and managing trade-offs between work packages to optimize performance
- Elaborating N&T sub-system design specifications and ensuring alignment with best practices
- Developing N&T sub-system Bill of Quantity (BoQ) and supporting installation managers
- Maintaining close follow-up on technical gaps and ensuring consistency of external interfaces
- Supervising system deliveries, including requirements, documentation, and performance
- Supporting functional validation and managing sub-system configuration throughout the project lifecycle
- Providing technical support for installation and commissioning activities
- Ensuring all N&T designs adhere to quality processes and guidelines
- Collaborating with other sub-system design leaders and project architects to ensure overall project performance
All about you
We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Electrical, Telecommunications, Informational Science or a related field
- 5 years of experience in radio deployments in an industrial or related environment
- Experience in managing design telecommunications/networking projects (preferred)
- Wireless/radio design experience (preferred)
- Team-oriented and solutions-focused mindset
- Strong understanding of system integration and configuration management
- Ability to collaborate across diverse teams and adapt to evolving project needs

Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:
- Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines

Align your credentials to ALSTOM's EB pathway
ALSTOM files under both EB-2 and EB-3, and which pathway applies to your role depends on the job's minimum education requirement. Engineers with a bachelor's degree in a specialty field typically qualify for EB-2, while technicians and skilled trades roles often route through EB-3 PERM.
Map your role to PERM labor certification requirements
Before ALSTOM can file your Green Card, DOL must certify through PERM that no qualified U.S. worker is available for the role. Review the O*NET occupation profile for your target job title so you understand exactly how the position is classified and what minimum requirements PERM will advertise.
Target ALSTOM's engineering and systems integration teams
Green Card sponsorship at ALSTOM concentrates in roles tied to rail systems engineering, propulsion, signaling, and manufacturing operations. Positions requiring specialized knowledge of transit infrastructure or traction systems are where long-term sponsorship commitments are most consistently offered.
Benchmark your offer against DOL prevailing wage
PERM requires ALSTOM to pay at or above the DOL prevailing wage for your occupation and location. Use the OFLC Wage Search to verify your offer meets at least the Level I or Level II threshold before signing, so a wage shortfall doesn't stall your petition after filing.
Start your Green Card conversation during the offer stage
Raise Green Card sponsorship explicitly during final-round negotiations, not after you start. ALSTOM's HR and legal teams handle sponsorship decisions at the offer stage. Asking post-hire makes it harder to get a formal commitment written into your employment terms before your H-1B visa start date.
Use Migrate Mate to find ALSTOM Green Card roles
Search Migrate Mate to identify open ALSTOM positions that align with active Green Card filing history. The platform surfaces employer Labor Condition Application data by role, so you can target the specific teams and job titles where ALSTOM has a demonstrated track record of sponsoring permanent residency.
ALSTOM Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does ALSTOM sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, ALSTOM sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying employees in engineering, manufacturing, and technical operations roles across its U.S. facilities. The company uses both EB-2 and EB-3 pathways depending on the position's educational requirements, and sponsorship is typically initiated after a period of full-time employment.
Which roles at ALSTOM are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Sponsorship at ALSTOM is most common in rail systems engineering, propulsion and traction design, signaling, and manufacturing operations. Roles requiring a specialized bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field typically qualify for EB-2, while skilled trades and production technician positions more commonly route through the EB-3 pathway via PERM labor certification.
How does the Green Card application process work at ALSTOM?
ALSTOM's process follows the standard employer-sponsored route: PERM labor certification through DOL, followed by an I-140 immigrant petition filed with USCIS, and then adjustment of status or consular processing once a visa number is available. ALSTOM's immigration counsel manages the PERM recruitment and filing process, but you'll need to provide supporting documentation throughout.
How long does Green Card sponsorship take at ALSTOM?
Timeline depends on your country of birth and the EB category. For EB-2 and EB-3 filers born outside of high-backlog countries, the full process from PERM filing to Green Card approval can run two to four years. Applicants born in India or China face significantly longer waits due to per-country annual limits set by USCIS.
How do I find Green Card jobs at ALSTOM that include sponsorship?
Job postings rarely specify Green Card sponsorship explicitly, so filtering by job title alone isn't enough. Migrate Mate shows ALSTOM's Labor Condition Application filing history by occupation, helping you identify the specific roles and locations where the company has an established pattern of sponsoring permanent residency before you apply.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at ALSTOM?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
