- Oversee alignment of data governance practices with Non-Financial Risk (NFR), privacy, information security, data quality, and information lifecycle management requirements
- Establish standards and oversight for metadata, data lineage, data quality, and critical data consumption
- Manage stakeholder engagement across business, technology, risk, compliance, and data & analytics teams to ensure consistent governance adoption
- Develop and track governance maturity metrics, evidence-based reviews, and ongoing compliance monitoring
- Champion enterprise change management and act as a data governance evangelist across senior leadership forums
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 14+ years of experience leading enterprise-wide data governance, data quality, or data management programs within large, complex organizations
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive enterprise adoption through strong relationship-building and consensus facilitation
- Proven experience designing and evolving data governance frameworks, policies, and standards at scale
- Strong ability to communicate data-driven narratives and guide decision-making across technical and non-technical audiences
- Demonstrates strong business acumen by understanding value drivers across the business, including the role of AI – financially, operationally, competitively
Preferred:
- Master’s degree
- Experience partnering closely with risk, compliance, privacy, and information security organizations
- Background supporting regulatory expectations and governance maturity initiatives in a highly regulated environment
- Change leadership expertise in embedding governance practices into enterprise transformation initiatives
Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.

Align your credentials to PERM-ready roles
MetLife's PERM filings tend to cluster around roles with specific degree and experience requirements. Before applying, map your credentials precisely to the posted job description, PERM labor certification requires the employer to advertise the exact minimum qualifications your background meets, not a generalized fit.
Target EB-2 over EB-3 for actuarial positions
Actuarial and senior risk roles at MetLife often qualify for EB-2 sponsorship because they require advanced degrees or demonstrate exceptional ability. If your background supports an EB-2 filing, confirm that distinction with your hiring manager before accepting an offer, since EB-2 carries shorter priority date backlogs.
Verify prevailing wage alignment before negotiating salary
MetLife must pay PERM-sponsored employees the DOL prevailing wage for their occupation and location. Use the OFLC Wage Search to check the wage level tied to your role's SOC code and work site before salary discussions, a misaligned offer can complicate or delay your Green Card filing.
Use Migrate Mate to confirm MetLife's Green Card filing history
Knowing which departments and job titles MetLife has historically sponsored for Green Card gives you a concrete targeting advantage. Migrate Mate surfaces DOL Labor Condition Application data by employer, so you can see which teams file most actively and tailor your application to those specific areas.
Clarify immigration support during the offer stage
Large insurers like MetLife typically manage Green Card filings through in-house legal or an outside immigration counsel, not the hiring manager. Ask HR explicitly whether your role is approved for Green Card sponsorship before signing, not all open positions carry immigration benefits, even at companies with active programs.
Build your O*NET occupational profile before the PERM audit
DOL can audit PERM applications and scrutinize whether your duties match the certified job description. Pull your role's O*NET occupational profile early and document how your day-to-day responsibilities align with the listed tasks, gaps between your actual work and the official profile are a common audit trigger.
MetLife Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does MetLife sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, MetLife sponsors Green Cards for qualifying employees, primarily through the EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based preference categories. Sponsorship is most common in actuarial, technology, finance, and risk management roles. Not every position is eligible, so you'll need to confirm Green Card sponsorship directly with HR for any specific role you're pursuing.
Which departments at MetLife typically receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at MetLife is most consistent in roles requiring specialized technical or analytical credentials, actuarial science, data engineering, enterprise technology, and financial risk management are the most active areas. Corporate functions that require niche expertise and have difficulty finding qualified U.S. workers tend to generate the most PERM filings.
How do I start the Green Card process at MetLife?
The process begins after you're hired and your manager confirms your role is eligible for sponsorship. MetLife's immigration team or outside counsel then initiates the PERM labor certification with DOL, which involves a supervised recruitment process. After PERM is certified, MetLife files an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS on your behalf before you can file for adjustment of status.
How long does Green Card sponsorship take at MetLife?
The PERM labor certification stage alone typically runs six months to over a year, depending on DOL processing and whether an audit is triggered. After PERM, your priority date determines when you can file for adjustment of status, for most countries that's immediate, but applicants from India or China face significantly longer waits due to per-country visa backlogs.
How do I find Green Card jobs at MetLife on Migrate Mate?
Migrate Mate filters job listings by employer Green Card filing history, so you can search MetLife specifically and see which roles and departments have active sponsorship records. This lets you prioritize applications to teams with a documented pattern of Green Card filings rather than applying broadly and hoping the role qualifies.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at MetLife?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
