Target roles in engineering and technical operations
Mohawk Industries most consistently sponsors Green Cards for specialized engineering, manufacturing, and technical roles. Focusing your application on these departments puts you in the strongest position for long-term sponsorship support.
Understand the PERM labor certification timeline
Green Card sponsorship through an employer like Mohawk begins with PERM, which can take one to two years before the I-140 petition is even filed. Factor this into your long-term planning and ask HR about their standard process upfront.
Highlight skills tied to Mohawk's core business
Mohawk operates across flooring, textiles, and advanced materials manufacturing. Candidates with backgrounds in materials science, industrial engineering, or supply chain design are more likely to be seen as hard-to-fill roles worth sponsoring for Green Card.
Confirm sponsorship intent early in the hiring process
Not every Mohawk role includes Green Card sponsorship by default. Ask directly during later interview stages whether the position includes long-term immigration support. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history before applying.
Stay visa-compliant while your Green Card is pending
Green Card processing at large manufacturers like Mohawk can span several years. Keeping your H-1B status current and filing timely extensions is critical to maintaining work authorization throughout the entire EB-2 or EB-3 process.
Mohawk Industries Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Mohawk Industries sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Mohawk Industries sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying employees. The company has an active sponsorship program, particularly for technical, engineering, and operations roles. Green Card sponsorship is typically offered after a period of employment and is tied to positions the company identifies as difficult to fill with U.S. workers.
Which roles and departments at Mohawk Industries are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and information technology roles are the most common pathways for Green Card sponsorship at Mohawk Industries. Given its scale in flooring and materials production, the company tends to sponsor positions requiring specialized technical knowledge that is not easily sourced domestically, including process engineers, software developers, and design specialists.
How do I navigate the Green Card application process at Mohawk Industries?
The process typically follows the employer-sponsored route: Mohawk's immigration team or outside counsel files a PERM labor certification with the Department of Labor, then submits an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS. Once approved and a visa number becomes available, you file for adjustment of status or go through consular processing. Your role is largely to provide documentation and respond promptly to any requests.
How long does the Green Card process take at Mohawk Industries?
Timeline depends heavily on your country of birth and the preference category. For most nationalities on an EB-2 or EB-3 petition, the process from PERM filing to Green Card approval takes two to five years. For applicants born in India or China, backlogs in the visa bulletin can extend this significantly longer. Starting early and maintaining valid work authorization throughout is essential.
How do I find Green Card sponsorship jobs at Mohawk Industries?
Search Mohawk Industries directly on Migrate Mate, which tracks verified sponsorship history so you can see which roles and locations have historically led to Green Card filings. When applying, look for positions in technical or engineering functions, and confirm sponsorship availability with the recruiter during the interview process rather than assuming all open roles include it.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Mohawk Industries?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
