Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
H-1B approval hinges on your role qualifying as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. For CrossCountry Mortgage roles, that typically means finance, accounting, computer science, or a related discipline directly tied to the position.
Research CrossCountry Mortgage's active LCA filings
Before applying, check DOL's public disclosure data to see which job titles CrossCountry Mortgage has filed Labor Condition Applications for. This tells you which roles they've actively sponsored and helps you target positions with a proven H-1B pathway at this employer.
Benchmark your salary against OFLC Wage Search
CrossCountry Mortgage must pay at least the prevailing wage for your role and location. Use OFLC Wage Search to find the wage level for your specific job title before negotiating an offer, so you know the floor USCIS will scrutinize during adjudication.
Confirm E-Verify enrollment before accepting an offer
H-1B employers must be enrolled in E-Verify. Verify CrossCountry Mortgage's enrollment status through E-Verify's public search before you're deep in the offer stage, since discovering a gap late can delay your start date or complicate the petition timeline significantly.
Use Migrate Mate to identify CrossCountry Mortgage's filing history
Search CrossCountry Mortgage on Migrate Mate to review their H-1B LCA filing history by occupation code. This shows which roles they've sponsored and at what wage levels, giving you a concrete basis for targeting the right teams and negotiating compensation.
Time your application around the H-1B cap and premium processing
CrossCountry Mortgage petitions for cap-subject H-1B cases in the April filing window, with an October 1 start date. If your role qualifies, ask your recruiter early whether they'll file premium processing, since standard adjudication can extend well beyond the cap season.
CrossCountry Mortgage, LLC H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does CrossCountry Mortgage, LLC sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, CrossCountry Mortgage sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying roles in its banking and financial services operations. Sponsorship is typically available for positions that meet the specialty occupation standard, meaning roles requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field directly related to the job duties.
Which roles at CrossCountry Mortgage typically receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at CrossCountry Mortgage is most common in roles tied to financial analysis, technology, data, compliance, and mortgage operations. Positions requiring specialized degrees in finance, accounting, computer science, or engineering tend to align best with the specialty occupation definition USCIS applies during adjudication.
How do I start the H-1B sponsorship process at CrossCountry Mortgage?
The process begins with a job offer and internal approval from CrossCountry Mortgage's HR or legal team to proceed with sponsorship. Your employer then files a Labor Condition Application with DOL, followed by the I-129 petition with USCIS. You can use Migrate Mate to review their LCA filing history before starting conversations with recruiters.
How long does H-1B sponsorship take at CrossCountry Mortgage?
Standard H-1B processing through USCIS can take several months after the April filing window, with an October 1 start date for cap-subject cases. Premium processing is available and reduces USCIS adjudication to roughly 15 business days, though your employer must elect and pay for that option at the time of filing.
Which departments at CrossCountry Mortgage are most likely to support H-1B sponsorship?
Technology, data analytics, finance, and compliance departments at CrossCountry Mortgage are the most likely to have roles that meet the specialty occupation threshold required for H-1B approval. Mortgage operations and risk management positions with specific degree requirements also tend to qualify, depending on how the role is structured and documented.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at CrossCountry Mortgage, LLC?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
