Align your credentials to SOC codes
Labcorp's H-1B petitions are tied to specific Standard Occupational Classification codes. Look up your target role on O*NET to confirm it meets the specialty occupation threshold, then make sure your degree field directly matches the job requirements before applying.
Target clinical and bioinformatics openings first
Labcorp's H-1B sponsorship concentrates in laboratory sciences, pathology support, bioinformatics, and regulatory affairs. Prioritizing postings in these divisions, rather than corporate or administrative functions, puts you in front of hiring managers who already have an established H-1B sponsorship process.
Confirm sponsorship willingness before the offer stage
Ask directly during the recruiter screen whether the specific role is approved for H-1B sponsorship. Some Labcorp divisions manage hiring locally and may not have immediate access to the corporate immigration process, so confirming early prevents late-stage surprises after extensive interviews.
Verify your prevailing wage position with OFLC Wage Search
Labcorp files Labor Condition Applications at DOL-defined wage levels. Before negotiating your offer, check the OFLC Wage Search for your role's wage level in the relevant metro area so your expected salary aligns with what Labcorp can certify without triggering a wage-level mismatch.
Use Migrate Mate to find Labcorp's LCA filing history
Migrate Mate surfaces Labcorp's DOL Labor Condition Application filings by job title and location, showing which roles have active H-1B LCAs. This lets you target positions where sponsorship is already in motion rather than waiting to find out after you've accepted an offer.
File for premium processing if your start date is fixed
If Labcorp extends an H-1B offer for a role with a specific start date, ask whether the company will cover USCIS premium processing. Standard processing can extend several months, and pharmaceutical laboratory positions often have credentialing or project timelines that can't absorb that delay.
Labcorp H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Labcorp sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Labcorp sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying roles, particularly in clinical laboratory science, bioinformatics, drug development, and regulatory affairs. Sponsorship is handled through Labcorp's corporate immigration function, so you should confirm with the recruiter early in the process whether the specific position you're applying to is approved for H-1B support.
Which departments at Labcorp are most likely to sponsor H-1B visas?
H-1B sponsorship at Labcorp is most common in technically specialized departments, including clinical pathology, genomics, bioinformatics, drug development services, and regulatory science. Roles requiring an advanced degree in a specific scientific or technical field are the strongest candidates. Corporate, sales, and general administrative positions are less frequently sponsored.
How do I start the H-1B sponsorship process at Labcorp?
The process begins with Labcorp extending a job offer and confirming it will support sponsorship. Their immigration team then files a Labor Condition Application with DOL, followed by an H-1B petition with USCIS. You don't file anything yourself, but you'll need to provide educational credentials, employment history, and passport details to Labcorp's designated immigration counsel.
How long does the H-1B process take at Labcorp?
Standard H-1B processing through USCIS can take several months from the petition filing date. If Labcorp uses premium processing, USCIS issues a decision within 15 business days. New H-1B approvals also depend on cap selection each April, so timing your job search to align with the annual H-1B lottery registration window in March is important.
How do I find H-1B jobs at Labcorp that are actively being sponsored?
Migrate Mate shows Labcorp's Labor Condition Application filing history by job title and work location, so you can identify roles where H-1B sponsorship is already active rather than guessing. Cross-reference those LCA records with open postings on Labcorp's careers site to prioritize applications where the sponsorship infrastructure is already in place.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Labcorp?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
