Job Roles at OhioHealth
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in OhioHealth H-1B Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Target clinical and specialist roles first
OhioHealth's H-1B sponsorship is concentrated in clinical departments. Focus your search on physician, nursing, therapy, and allied health positions, where international candidates with specialized training are most likely to receive sponsorship consideration.
Confirm sponsorship willingness before applying
Not every OhioHealth posting guarantees H-1B sponsorship, even in eligible departments. Contact the recruiter directly early in the process to confirm the role is open to H-1B candidates before investing time in a full application.
Use verified job boards to filter by sponsorship history
Finding roles where OhioHealth has actually sponsored is easier when you use a platform built for it. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and avoid listings that won't support your visa.
Understand that healthcare H-1B timelines are longer
Licensing requirements in healthcare add time to the H-1B process. OhioHealth will typically need your state nursing or medical license confirmed before filing, so factor credentialing timelines into your overall job search and offer negotiation.
Highlight specialty training aligned with OhioHealth's service lines
OhioHealth operates across cardiology, oncology, neuroscience, and emergency medicine. Applicants whose credentials align directly with these specialty areas are more likely to secure an H-1B offer, since these departments face the strongest demand for specialized talent.
Ask HR about OhioHealth's internal H-1B process during interviews
Large health systems like OhioHealth typically manage H-1B filings through in-house HR or a preferred immigration law firm. Asking about the internal process during interviews signals preparation and helps you understand your expected timeline.

Get Access To All JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does OhioHealth sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, OhioHealth sponsors H-1B visas for qualified candidates in eligible roles. Sponsorship is most common in clinical and specialty healthcare positions where specific credentials are required. Not every open role will include H-1B sponsorship, so confirming with the recruiter before applying is an important first step in the process.
Which roles and departments at OhioHealth typically receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at OhioHealth is most common in clinical roles requiring specialty training, including physicians, registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and medical scientists. Departments with the highest demand for specialized talent, such as cardiology, oncology, and neuroscience, tend to be more open to sponsoring international candidates than administrative or general support roles.
How do I apply for H-1B sponsorship at OhioHealth?
The process begins by applying to an open role and receiving a job offer. Once an offer is extended, OhioHealth's HR team or their immigration counsel initiates the H-1B petition. For healthcare roles, you'll also need to have your professional license confirmed in Ohio before the petition can be filed with USCIS. Migrate Mate can help you identify roles at OhioHealth where sponsorship has been verified.
How long does the H-1B process take at OhioHealth?
For most candidates, the H-1B process at OhioHealth takes several months from offer to approval. Standard USCIS processing runs three to six months, though premium processing can reduce that window significantly. Healthcare candidates should account for additional time if state licensure is still pending, since OhioHealth typically requires licensure before the petition is submitted.
What should I know before negotiating an H-1B offer with OhioHealth?
H-1B sponsorship requires OhioHealth to file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor certifying that your salary meets the prevailing wage for your role and location. This sets a floor on what you can be offered. Be transparent about your visa status early, clarify whether the role is cap-subject or cap-exempt based on OhioHealth's facility type, and confirm the timeline for when the petition would be filed.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at OhioHealth?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
