Match your credentials to specialty occupation standards
Southcoast sponsors H-1B for roles requiring a specific bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field. Pull the O*NET profile for your target job title and confirm the listed education requirements align with your degree before applying.
Verify your license is transferable to Massachusetts
Clinical roles at Southcoast require active Massachusetts licensure before your H-1B can be filed. Start the endorsement process with the Massachusetts licensing board early, since processing gaps can delay your petition start date by months.
Target departments with recurring international hiring patterns
Southcoast's inpatient units, including nursing, radiology, and physical therapy, have historically supported H-1B sponsorship for hard-to-fill clinical positions. Focus your application on roles listed with specific degree requirements rather than generalist or administrative postings.
Use Migrate Mate to confirm LCA filing history by role
Before accepting an offer, verify that Southcoast has filed Labor Condition Applications for your specific job title. Migrate Mate surfaces DOL LCA disclosure data by employer and occupation so you can see exactly which roles have been sponsored.
Negotiate your offer around the H-1B filing deadline
USCIS accepts H-1B cap-subject petitions only in April for an October 1 start date. If Southcoast extends an offer after April, discuss a deferred start or an OPT bridge arrangement with HR so your authorization remains continuous through the gap.
Prepare a specialty occupation support package before HR asks
Ask Southcoast's HR or legal team what documentation they need to establish specialty occupation. Providing your degree equivalency evaluation, a detailed job duties memo, and relevant clinical credentialing upfront speeds up the LCA and I-129 preparation timeline significantly.
Southcoast Hospitals Group H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Southcoast Hospitals Group sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Southcoast Hospitals Group sponsors H-1B visas for qualified clinical and medical professionals. Sponsorship is typically reserved for roles that require a specific degree in a directly related field, such as nursing specialties, imaging, therapy, and other licensed healthcare positions across its hospital network in southeastern Massachusetts.
Which roles and departments at Southcoast Hospitals Group typically receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at Southcoast is concentrated in clinical departments where degree requirements are well-defined and licensure is mandatory. Registered nurses, physical therapists, radiologic technologists, and other allied health professionals in inpatient or specialty care settings are the most common beneficiaries of Southcoast's H-1B program.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at Southcoast Hospitals Group?
Once Southcoast extends a conditional offer, their HR or legal team files a Labor Condition Application with DOL and then submits Form I-129 to USCIS. You'll need to provide degree credentials, a credential evaluation if your degree is foreign, and active Massachusetts professional licensure before the petition can be filed.
How do I find open H-1B sponsored roles at Southcoast Hospitals Group?
Migrate Mate lists H-1B employer data including LCA filing history, so you can identify which Southcoast job titles have been sponsored and search for active openings in those departments. Cross-reference with Southcoast's own careers portal to confirm current vacancies before reaching out to their recruitment team.
How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take at Southcoast Hospitals Group?
For cap-subject petitions, the process runs from lottery registration in March through an October 1 start date if selected. USCIS standard processing can take three to six months after filing. Premium processing reduces the adjudication window to 15 business days. Massachusetts licensure and credential evaluation timelines add to the overall preparation period.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Southcoast Hospitals Group?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
